I said he’s strong on labor issues
Was that a union protest?

Labor getting stronger is going to be a lot more useful in fighting inequality than technical changes in the tax code.
Rich people and their accountants and tax lawyers can easily evade the latter - but when you have powerful unions carrying out lots of strikes, it gives the rich very little room to maneuver
Bernie Sanders is explicitly pro worker and pro union and has been his entire political career, going back to when he was mayor of Burlington, VT.
Warren is a centrist ex Republican who’s not openly hostile to unions
I think the choice is pretty clear.
Even with this rally, the idea that the best way to win justice for…
So....one law for cops and teachers, and another law for pampered rich athletes?
Sounds like due process...oh, wait....
So....what’s the answer?
I see a lot of handwringing here, and no action proposal at the end.
If you’re just going to gripe about a problem, I’m not interested.
Call me when you have a proposed solution set.
And...cue the anti union bootlickers in 3, 2......
Are we still trying to make “Latin-X” a thing?
Nobody says that word in real life - especially not anybody Latino
Honestly?
Coffee does taste like shit
It’s basically just a way to get caffeine into the body....you have to put all the other stuff in it so it doesn’t taste like coffee, which tastes awful
If you want to be That Guy, go ahead.
Most of us just go with the flow and get our beverage using whatever terms that the store owners want us to use
Ever worked in a factory?
It’s hard physical work - and auto work is probably one of the hardest factory jobs there is. The assembly line pushes you to work at the speed that management wants you to work at - and the fact that 40% of auto workers retire with permanent musculoskeletal injuries is mute testimony to that

The unions have voted to authorize a strike - that’s not the same thing as calling a strike.
Usually, a strike authorization vote is a negotiating tactic, it’s not an actual strike call
As a rule, a union isn’t on strike until the workers have actually walked off the job
In other words....they’re assholes
Go over to Jalopnik - they’ve been covering the UAW corruption scandal for months - they’re Splinter’s sister site that covers automotive issues
No it isn’t
If you can’t hear, you can’t use the drive through - park your car and go in the store, use the app or have somebody in your car who can hear make the order for you
Every worker has a right to a defense when the employer is trying to discipline them - even if the worker is wrong.
It’s the same principle as every criminal defendant having a right to an attorney who will vigorously defend them, even if they are guilty as hell.

I hope you never have to park in Brooklyn - you’re lucky if you get 15 feet here, and the parking spaces are not marked. Also, google “double parking” and “alternate side of the street parking”
Except not really
Yes, it does
If there’s mold on it, throw it out
And here come all the anti union bootlickers.....
Define “shitty employees”
The UAW - like all unions - protects the rights of employees, including their right to only be fired for good cause
GM can still fire a worker - they just have to have a good reason, and be able to prove it to a neutral arbitrator
Why exactly do you have a problem with that?
