I agree with your NP. This is a sharp car, that’s probably pretty fun to drive with that much torque on tap, 5 speed stick, and RWD. You would turn heads at car events and gather slow-walkers going past in parking lots. Why not?

If they want the Crown to reflect luxury, this didn’t do it. It would have stood out more as a hatchback sedan, like the Audi A7 or Porsche Panamera.

Very well understated.

I just looked this up. Check the following links. You and I aren’t quite wrong, but the roots go back much earlier than WWII.

I know it is a simple metric, but height means only a little, as it is one’s proportions that matter. My 6'2" brother has trouble fitting in some cars because he is all torso. Someone with longer arms and legs can just push the seat back.

Strange what 38 years of engineering can accomplish. That said, my next car might surpass the performance of all of the supercars of my college years with the gas mileage of my 11 year old Mazda5. Something fun about that.

The engine fails, you still have a decently agile and controllable glider

Yes, we need to remember this. Thanks for stating it.

That is what my 14 year old said when we saw one in town! She still wanted a video to show her family and friends.

I get this. My brother bought a Jeep Liberty (literally stepping-up from a small sports car) just as SUVs started receiving vitriol for being big, gas-guzzlers, and before people started accepting them as normal going forward. As one who keeps his cars a long time, a new car is a big deal. His friends and colleagues

the price of the Firebird will go down once the boomers die off.

You bring up a good point. Although I would go for a stock version, at the same or lesser price, these are not awful mods, and if you want more HP, this is there for you. Probably a NP for someone.

Yeah, any Ferrari where the tires expire before the treads wear off is a waste. If you want a garage queen, this is a good example. If you want to drive it, there are likely better options. Put me down as a driver, even with the auto-manual.

I remember how sleek and stunning the 360/430 models looked at the time. Now I prefer the less-smoothed-over designs, so I get it. Make mine blue or green!

If that tree was a bicyclist, pedestrian, or motorcyclist, would he have even stopped?

Stolen?

Yes, I think that this Jag or a Maserati Gran Turismo are more of his style. The look and sound of the Maserati is fantastic! There are a few in my town, and they do grab my attention every time.

If a non-gray member likes or responds to your posts, you do turn black. I hope for you that it is permanent. After 8 years, I’ve given up on even trying.

There is a guardrail at the entrance of a 25mph exit from a local freeway near my house. It is damaged every 10 days or so, often severely. People wait until the last minute to move over two lanes, and then don’t have time to slow down. Lack of planning is a big part of it.

“Rules”? I didn’t know that Jalopnik could afford a rules police force.
