I think I saw a mid-80's turbo Thunderbird that was resto-modded with a V8. That might be fun, but might require wrenching.

You’re correct that designing these tests must be a nightmare for the governing bodies, and it shows. It doesn’t help that people seem to think that all loopholes exist to be exploited, instead of sticking with the intent of the rules.

When someone revs their motorcycle at a stoplight, it pierces my nervous system with sharp pain, making me want to hurt someone really badly. I know some people like loud vehicles, but it’s a huge negative for me.

Maybe because holding a phone in portrait mode is more secure, and more instinctual? Unless you are a youtuber, portrait is your default. For one thing, that’s it’s position when I unlock it.

Look at all of the people who publicly ‘shame’ their kids online to “punish them” or prove a point. They don’t realize that this is the polar opposite of good parenting. Sure, the internet may be showing us what has always been there, but there are enough people who will think it’s ‘cool’ and do it themselves.

I’ve been watching GM since the 80's and they seem to have very good engineers. As you pointed-out, they manage to keep that engineering from making their products stand out as exceptional. Don’t worry, they’ll offer all of their best features on the product the last year before they discontinue it. 

I agree with you that this is one of the top 5 rebodied cars I’ve seen in this column. The proportions on this are not far off the 275 SWB. The interior work is also very nice, although I’d hope there’s a hidden speaker system somewhere in there. Without a Ferrari engine, I’d want to occasionally have some tunes. 

Except that the Miata is designed as an updated Lotus, so you’re just cosplaying the cosplayer. Also, car designers have been steeling the looks of their competitors for a century. At least body kits come by it honestly.
