The way I see it, pruning WAS the problem with this one. As Elhigh points out, that tree was completely shorn on the side toward the street light. Someone was not thinking about physics when that decision was made.

Not so extreme odds, since they were approaching a crosswalk. It may be a raised crosswalk, or more likely, and intersection which might be raised for runoff.

That’s the color of my former Windstar! (Does it have a purple tint in some lighting?) Ours worked great (except for that transmission failure, but it was 18 years old). 

If this was an FAA aircraft accident report, it would read, “Accident was a result of the pilot’s failure to control the vehicle. Contributing factors include inadequate experience with the high performance craft and the distractive influence of the crowd.” 

Yeah, that second “bedroom” was definitely not used for human trafficking or underage travel companions. Who else would go there? Teenage children?

What’s even worse is some of those spectators will profit from posting those crash videos online. 

I’ve never been showing off for a crowd that isn’t there. The crowd is a definite contribution to the problem. 

Seeing it unl0aded would also be entertaining. After a bit of load shift, who knows what is leaning on what.
