Keep in mind that even if you get either of the deluxe editions digitally, that only covers the first DLC character pack. You will still need to buy character pack #2 to fill out the roster. $15 for me on PSN for everything.
Also, I thought that I could keep being stubborn and use a stick, but finding out about R3 made…
My gaming circle has had an anime fighter renaissance over the last two years, and Melty Blood was in heavy rotation. Wonderful mechanics, beautiful animation, and yeah, that music bumps.
If you enjoy playing fighters with a keyboard, definitely give a hitbox a go! It may not be my thing (nothing replaces the 360 swing of a digital balltop Sanwa joystick for a fighter, personally), but hitboxes do fascinate me. And two of my fighting game friends with whom I’ve built/customized sticks with want to…
I stand corrected! Mostly new to me, I suppose, with hitting up Guilty Gear: Strive hard as well as a pile of older anime fighters for the first time. Definitely makes sense that it comes from a time when arrow characters were not universally available to represent directional input.
Like I said, definitely has…
“For those of you who are unconvinced, playing on keyboard totally removed all barriers to entry from Guilty Gear Strive that learning to play with stick would normally impose, and allowed me, a total beginner at fighting games, to climb to Floor 10 of Strive’s 11-floor ranking system”
lol
Bless you for dropping in those arrows and not using the new num pad notation. It has its merits, but I have to stare and blink several times before remembering that 236P is a hadouken.
Drives this visual brain batty.
Renzo for the win. Take your star.
Hitboxes. She mentioned those in the article, which is brilliantly written and belongs in the Onion.
Live streamed from a public bathroom. He will never have my viewership, nor will I buy a product while he is endorsing it. And I will not keep quiet about it any time I see an article about him or being featured in an ad.
No doubt. And outside of the insane tunnel vision that must happen within the context of grinding a speed run, I cannot count the times a game has stumped me for hours with exactly that: an obvious solution so obvious I was blinded by it.
I am by no means an expert. I am by no means a speed runner. But I did unlock everything possible on the cart back in high school in the 90s.
...and I did discover the retreat and dash trick for the vent sentry during my week of absolute hell when I thought the April Fool’s EGM “All Bonds” unlock was real.
My first time using a brand new Wavebird was to play my brand new copy of Mario Sunshine. I ordered them directly from Nintendo. Broke out the Wavebird last night, and this surprise addition to the update... almost had me in tears from happiness.
I thought I was out of luck after trying to submit with no US option, then trying again when I found the right page. The advice here to keep it going really helped. Thanks, all!
Hopefully the link gets corrected in the article.
I still have my NES console box from the greatest Christmas morning of my lifetime. Oh. Oh, yes.
You know what my Prime Day purchase was? Found a PS4 controller on Amazon for cheap, then went to ebay and bought it from someone used for even cheaper.

Absolutely. Unfortunately it is extremely expensive and labor intensive when compared to increasingly inexpensive CG, so it has become much more niche. A lot of soul is traded off in my opinion. Same goes for hand drawn animation.
And how much of an incredible craft and art form have we lost?
Hard disagree. And of course the ability to play next gen games is not in dispute.
5 already plays 4, so that isn’t even a consideration.
