I really feel like it’d be inappropriate to consider a SCOTUS nominee in the middle of the campaign like this. We should really wait until the election and let the voice of the American people be heard.

At least we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief that Jason Shkreli Chaffetz has written a letter to the Investigator General to look into the source of leaks. Not the fact that the leaks represent absolutely horrific collision and perhaps blackmail, but the fact that there are leaks. I’ll sleep well tonight.

You would think after that whole fiasco she would have known this would end up the same way. I do have to say that I think some people just think that if it’s for “art” it’s ok. I’m not sure how artsy VS is but I guess it is to someone. My very sweet husband who happens to be, white didn’t understand why I, a hispanic

If you really consider watching your kid “unpaid work”, then you probably fall into a similar category as “dad’s that call watching their kids babysitting”.

Perhaps the answer to the many men’s “how can I support this strike” queries is: pretend the women in your life evaporated. Care for your children in their absence. Care for their children. The real impact of “a day without women” can only really be felt if women aren’t in the workplace, and men have to take the day

I can give you a pretty definitive answer: go to work, refrain from buying anything, be supportive of any actions that women are taking, and if you are married or partnered, be prepared to do a bunch of housework and childcare.

I get that, and that would really suck to hurt the very people who need support. I think we’re getting preemptively worried about this though. First, there’s no indication at this point that the teacher participation will be so high that any school will have to close. I would also hope that IF that happened, it would

I think Netflix is OK because that is a leisure activity that you have already paid for. I love, love, love staying off the internet so that no one gets ad revenue from you. That’ll be a kick in the teeth for all of the Silicon Valley Tech moguls who have been trying to get on the Trump Train....

I miss you already!

If we’re aiming for every woman participating,

My argument is that you don’t know what a strike is. You seem to think the most important part of it is that you get to sit on your ass and do nothing.

I think your definition of “strike” is quite skewed. This strike is clearly about emphasizing the importance of women in the workplace, and forcing the world to take notice of what happens when you are absent. A strike is not a vacation, as you seem to think it is. Taking care of your child is not work. It is a

A few years back, they held “A Day Without a Mexican.” A lot of businesses had to close for the day—and a lot of wage workers stood their ground and participated in the strike. Are you proposing that most of those people had nothing to lose? That they were operating from a place of privilege? Because very few of

I don’t think I understand your post.
Is this sarcasm? Or is this your legitimate argument against a strike?
Because you managed to disrespect teachers, food workers, moms, and dads all within a single post.

Men and boys (those who participated in the march and those who maybe felt they weren’t invited) can step up and do the unpaid work that women will not be doing that day. Ask them to organize so that families without men and fields that are traditionally populated by women can “borrow” workers for the day.

Sorry but that makes no sense.

Is taking care of your own child and feeding yourself really such an issue?

I don’t think “feeding your newborn child” falls within the scope of the strike.

If you are concerned that this protest may result in you having to watch your kid for a day or cook a single meal, I’m not sure your heart is really in the cause.

Yeah, but, that’s kinda the point. Women overwhelmingly work in service and care-taking professions, whether its education, day-care, nursing, elder care, dog-walking, you name it; but we don’t get recognized for the work that we do. Its just assumed we will always show up to work because taking care of others is
