Try going to Longyearbyen on Svalbard. The entire town came out to the give the Streetview car its own parade. Hint: look around the south edge of town. Hint 2: If you can't find Svalbard, you haven't gone far enough north.

I was on a highway ramp a few years back and was forced to stop because the driver in front of me was an idiot. We were in a construction zone. The short merge lane had been reduced down to no merge lane whatsoever. The car in front of me was matching speed with traffic and had lined up nicely with a gap between

The AotD missed the $84/HP Genesis Coupe V6. You know you can do better than those fools.

You missed #8.5 on the list:

Hyundai Genesis Coupe: $26,350 / 274 HP = $96.17/hp

I kept watching him drop a rear wheel off when he had an entire car length of pavement in front of him. The first few would have been a warning to me to tighten up my line. I've seen what can happen when you drop a wheel off in the grass. Just ask Ken Block.
All I can guess is that he was trying to get the back end out

What? No Honda SSM?

Not when they did it right in the Integra GS-R. That engine had an absolutely flat torque curve* from idle to 8000 rpm. Then they got tired of losing the peak HP number game and started messing with the cam profiles (Integra Type-R). It's been downhill ever since.

That's because the guy wiping down the nose bumped it (1:01) and knocked it out of place. You can see him try to put it back in place. I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that it'll never stay put at 560 km/h.

Someone needs to get Sir Vival to him ASAP!

Salt Lake City gets my vote.

Almost forgot Lake Peigneur. What happens when you drill a 14" drain hole in the bottom of a lake? Very, very bad things.

The Hyatt Regency walkway collapse in St. Louis killed 114 people and injured 216. There were numerous reasons for the failure including shoddy construction and perfunctory inspections.

I'll second this nomination and add a video:

Pacific Grove on Friday evening. Get there early. They have a car parade that starts in downtown Pacific Grove and heads south along the shoreline. It has everything from old Sprites and Austin Healys to Elises and SLs. It's the most interesting collection of run-what-ya-brung that you can see for free.

He's clearly installing a Turbo Encabulator in the car to get that kind of mileage. It's the only way.

That was also the start of the champagne spraying tradition.

So you're saying that it took GoT 12,000 years to advance as far as we got in only 11,300 years. Which basically means they are developing technology 94% as fast as we are. But even that is over stating the case a bit.
