I mean, that’s a possibility but I doubt it. If their pitch to Namco was solid I don’t see why Namco would ask for an extortionate licensing fee. If the project is funded primarily via Kickstarter, it doesn’t cost Namco anything, has the potential to make them money, and if it flops, won’t really damage their brand…

This is officially licensed. Presumably, they pitched their concept to FROM and paid a fee or set up some sort of licensing agreement. Not really the same thing as selling Dark Souls shirts on Teefury/RedBubble.
