I was thinking about that also after reading the review! I had to read that for a class in college. Freaked me the fuck out, I think especially since I had to write a detailed analysis of it. But I've always found the idea of losing one's mind much scarier than ghosts.

And this is why I rarely get involved with discussions like this. People see something you wrote and attribute it to some way of thinking that they disagree with and mentally assign you to that group, leading to all sorts of assumptions.

I had a bad stretch that was like that. Finding a good match for a therapist can take some work; I had to go through a few before finding one that really clicked with me. I think it added to it. A big part of the joke is the growing discomfort of the audience, and I love that even Conan can't quite sit through it without having to break the tension. And Norm doesn't give a fuck and continues to build.

I haven't seen evidence that Trump cares about anyone who is not named Trump. And there's plenty of evidence that he's willing to use unethical practices to make more money. Why people expect him to reduce corruption in the system if he's elected president is beyond me.

Don't forget how he promised to heal race relations by increasing police harassment of black people on the street.

And coming from fucking Trump, of all people!

That terminology always bugged me. The most salient difference between "filmed in front of a live audience" and not, is, you know, the audience, not the number of damn cameras involved. That makes it hard to remember which is which.

I felt the same way about Fargo. People described as being really funny (albeit in a dark way), but I found it depressing to the point that I couldn't really enjoy it much. Great movie, but I have little urge to see it again. I thought Burn After Reading was pretty fun, though.
