I can tell you why I don’t go to as many baseball games. I live 40 minutes from the stadium, it costs me $100+ for tickets for my family, another $50+ on food, and usually about $20 on parking. I went more as a kid because my dad was paying. And he was more financially stable (AKA wealthy) than I am.

I wonder if more people aren’t just heading to their local minor-league teams instead of the majors? The article below suggests minor league attendance has been rising for years, and for me (anecdotally, to be sure) - for many of the reasons above - the time investment, economics, players giving it their all, etc…

As much as I want Jacoby to succeed ( former Patriots QB, after all ), seeing those tweets has made me believe that Indiana has already ruined him, and by the end of the season he’ll be the league’s first QB with Alzheimer’s. 

The residents of this 3 building having, 4 block fucking town screamed and booed at someone who, until that point, seemed to be one of the least booable people in the entire league. The guy that was set up to be hurt by men who were unqualified to build a team around him. It’s a shame and a relief that it came to this.

The last 3 years have opened up the hypocrisy of fandom and American football in general. Athletes are criticized more than ever about damn near everything, but since 45 has been in office it’s taken a nasty turn. Owners can get away with virtually anything and nary a peep. Hell, Bobby Kraft got caught entertaining…

I could be wrong, but I believe he’s being sarcastic and simply showing how rediculous it is to compare what luck does with steel workers.

Is there any other sport like American football where the fans and pundits feel like the players owe them something? And said fans/pundit industry feel they have a divine right to dictate behavioral standards to the players?
