DUI = Driving Under the Influence = could also be from other mind-altering paraphernalia.

You can get those Mattracks for just about any pickup, SxS, utility vehicle or tractor if you want to build your own.  Kinda spendy, though.

Until the taxing agencies pull their collective heads out of their asses and start charging road tax by weight and mileage, vehicles will continue to get bigger and heavier.

I remember seeing a forecast for that area the other day for freezing rain, so maybe road conditions were slick?

If they were M/Ts, they are notoriously bad in snow. If they were A/Ts, then they may range anywhere from decent to horrible in snow, depending on the tire.

Most truck buyers don’t care about safety (at least not enough to sway buying decisions).

1st Gear: how soon before we see airbags on the front bumpers of cars?

I’d prefer the sound from the Duke boys’ ‘69 Charger.

Ridgeline has a larger bed volume than Tacoma. When you include the Ridgeline trunk, it has more volume than even the longbed Tacoma. Payload is 1477 to 1584lbs, depending on trim, which is pretty near top of class given the other features (features that are options on other trucks that add weight and reduce payload).

Define capability.

It all depends on why you need a pickup truck. If it’s to go offroad, Tacoma is better. If it’s to haul stuff in the bed, Ridgeline is better.

Meanwhile, you can pick up a new loaded Ridgeline for under $42k, probably under $40k if you shop around, and 0.9% interest.

My Ridgeline has four around the top and “four on the floor” *.... rated at 350lbs each. I use them often, but mostly the ones at floor level.

I’d want two ramps to load a bike. One ramp for the bike, and one for me to walk up on while moving the bike up the other ramp.

Now playing

Just watched the Hagerty video. It’s much more impressive than i thought.

Well, most people are vehicle-illiterate. So, while the drag race won’t impress us car enthusiasts, it will certainly wow the vast majority of spectators.

How much is $39.9k when adjusted for inflation over the last four years?

The ZF 9-spd was pretty bad as implemented in Jeep products. Early versions in Acura/Honda products weren’t a lot better, but Honda has really sorted out the programming logic post-2020. The transmission works very well now, starts out in 2nd gear*, and only hesitation is downshifts from 8-7 and 5-4, IIRC, due to the

The question is backwards. In general, the less power you have, the more gears (speeds) you need. If an engine was very powerful, it could get by with one gear.

1) why is it crying?
