I remember in a Tundra interview, Toyota said the hybrid was for max power, not max MPG. I think they don’t believe truck buyers are interested in MPG.

Unless Toyota needed to make their sedans more efficient in order to maintain CAFE standards for their thirsty trucks...
It’s too bad we can’t get HP and torque graphs (i.e. - HP and torque at every 500rpm), so one can actually see the “area under the curve” on these engines. Peak HP and torque numbers are practically meaningless without a graph of engine output.
If i lost my Ridgeline, I’d have to replace it with another Ridgeline. I’ve found nothing else that can do everything it does for the price. It rides and drives like a luxury SUV, decent-sized bed with 1500lbs payload capacity, N/A V6 with real automatic transmission, roomy interior, awesome packaging, perfect vehicle…
Well, duh!
Edit: got this mixed up with the TLX post above. TLX Type S = modern Accord w/V6.
Counterpoint: my wife wants a V6 Accord to replace the old V6 Accord that she has now, and she doesn’t want to buy used. This will be the only way she gets it.
....yawn....
It’s pretty simple, unless you’re trying to get ultra-pedantic about it, which would indicate that you have an axe to grind.
Good point. Maybe it would boil down to number of non-related complaints filed with FCC that might trigger an investigation.
Ahh, you’re probably focused on the “Great on fire roads, logging roads, sandy beaches, etc.” part of my comment. That doesn’t mean that it cannot go far offroad.
Going far offroad to go camping away from the crowds. My comment still stands.
I listen to AM all the time, but never political talk shows. I listen to news and H&G shows, and occasional sports.
The biggest issue is that they’d have to hunt the does, not the bucks. This rubs many people the wrong way. It’s not a bad deal if you’re a meat hunter (seems relatively few hunters are anymore); however, unless you’re adept at processing the deer yourself, commercial processing costs have gone up so much that there…
Vehicle lost traction? I’ve launched boats hundreds of times, of all sizes, using mostly 2wd trucks with highway tires on all kinds of ramps. Never had a worry about losing traction, maybe spin a little bit on mossy, weedy or gravel-on-concrete ramps.
If you’re not rock-crawling, there’s a good chance the Ridgeline will get you where you need to go. Great on fire roads, logging roads, sandy beaches, etc.
Those images are all CGI.
It doesn’t have the nice recovery points that the 2023 Pilot TrailSport has, and likely won’t get them until Honda gives the Ridgeline the new platform. Same for GC and larger tires.
Except the one in the Ridgeline is huge. I can haul four five-gallon water bottles in the Ridgeline trunk with the lid closed.
Of all of those trucks, i would go with one you didn’t list, the Gen1 Dakota. I had a ‘92 and it was a great truck, perfect size. Later Gen2 Dakotas grew too big.
