My response was to the misleading title “most capable truck” without the offroading qualifier.

Bed usability: I’ve used all of my bed several times. I could’ve used a smaller bed, but that would mean more trips, more fuel and more time wasted. More importantly, the bed of my truck is very easy to access, important especially when hauling a load of dirt, compost or tree branches.

Headline, as usual, is misleading.

Still not seeing it.  I see the Jetta as the last car posted.  Can you do a screenshot?

I didn’t see that on the IIHS website, either as a grouping or individually. Do you have a different link?

I remember those.  I think they were voted as best police cruiser by the Police Association of America, or something like that.  They loved the huge interior on those cars.

How about drop-down headlight covers, ala the original Dodge Magnum?

Built-in navigation will go away. It’s only useful in places with no cell signal (which is a LOT more places than people imagine!), but there are apps for that.

Neutral: Trucks are appealing to people who want to have the thought of living an adventurous life, since obviously no one can find adventure in a sedan.

Since we have limited funds, i am assuming we want a practical car. What could be more practical than a 6th-gen Accord with four-cylinder engine and five-speed manual? The most reliable car ever made, very efficient and kinda fun to drive! Should be able to pick up a concours example for under $20k, if you can find

They should’ve killed the Titan five years ago, then out all of the Titan $$$ into the Frontier.

If all they did was hacksaw the back off, they could have it to market within the year. The fact that it is taking them four years indicates they are putting a lot of thought and engineering into this thing.

Let’s hope the B&O sound system can at least match the excellent ELS system. From what I’ve heard, the B&O stuff in the Ford vehicles ain’t all that great.

I don’t think anybody buys $35k+ EVs to save money (or the environment, for that matter). They buy them because they’re fast, fun-to-drive and extremely convenient in the right situations (e.g. - charging at home for your work commute).

Ummm, that stupid-ass Chicken Tax is still in effect, which means poor truck choices for U.S. truck buyers in the “compact” market.

The thing is, it gets pretty hot in SD, but it also gets pretty cold. Thank the lack of trees and black body radiation of the prairie for that.

I think most newer homes built in the last 50 years have central air, but yeah, most older homes just have a window unit or two.

Politically, i find myself often on both sides of the fence. There are things i absolutely hate that each party is doing, and things that i somewhat agree with both parties. I guess i’m right down the middle. Sometimes i wonder if i’m normal based on the plethora of extreme left/right hate that is so prevalent

Here’s a shot from South Dakota just now (92.3°F) and from 9:17 last night. High dewpoints = high “feels like” temps.  Highest "feels like" I've seen this week was 118°F.

Saw some pics of this on another website the other day. The bed looks really goofy because the wheel wells are up at the front of the bed.
