Stainless steel: all of the weight of regular steel, with the unforgiving stiffness of aluminum.
Driding back to college (a four-hour trip) and hit a blizzard. This was on a remote little-traveled stretch of road, see maybe one car every few miles. Anyway, it was a white-out. I was driving a ‘76 Charger SE (400 big-block) with studded snows on the rear, and several bags of salt and several wheels in the trunk.
Thank you for that response. 0-60mph info just doesn't give us enough info on passing power. I think that's why M/T or C/D went to posting 50mph-70mph passing times.
I don’t think the hybrid is a CVT in the sense that most of us think about CVTs. It’s more of a direct electrical drive. That would be the model I’d be interested in going to, from the 2008 V6 Accord which is still quite fast.
New engine rant:
But how does it drive?
When I did my advanced diving, we only went to 100 feet (I think we were supposed to go deeper, but we ran out of depth.
Much like you, @stevedasilva, I cut my teeth on rwd cars, from late-60s and 70s big-blocks, to LS Chevies and V8 trucks. In 2002, I sold my ‘92 V8 Dakota and picked up a brand new Accord coupe with four-cylinder five-speed manual. That car was a blast, despite being severely underpowered, very comfortable, refined,…
Honda keeps sending out letters asking if you’ve sold the car, destroyed it, etc. and has a pre-paid return envelope. Check a box and drop it in the mail - done!
They should probably link them to DMVs via VINs and deny registration until repaired.
They probably would if they could find the cars.
Most folks call them airboat. I’ve driven one or two in my day.
From what I remember of Mississippi, most of the rural highways had very little signage. Almost as if the state was saying, “if you don’t know where you are going, you don’t belong there”.
Neutral: I live in flyover country, where charging stations are few and far between, especially for those last 100 miles off the Interstate. So EVs aren’t much of an option (I’ve yet to see a Tesla IRL).
Waiting for the shootout among the CX-90, Pilot Elite and Telluride....
I-6 = "premium" nowadays. Like the V8 used to be, and the big-block V8 before that, and the V12 before that.
Probably range extender if they are forced to go hybrid eventually.
Wow, they could build a bionic man every hour!
Inline six engines also seem to be much more durable than V6 engines (see Chrysler Slant Six, Ford 300 I-6, Jeep 4.0L I-6, etc.).
