You mean, in 2006, the entire Duke Lacrosse team was falsely accused of rape by a racist stripper, who is now in prison for murdering her boyfriend.

If you read some of the other comments as well as the actual court proceedings, it seems the jury wasn't necessarily justifying the revenge homicide, but declaring that there wasn't any evidence that the father in question actually committed the crime. No GSR, no weapon, etc.

Okay, I just wanted to make sure. They do happen, it was wrong of me to deny that. The main issue remains rape, though, and the focus on false accusations can be harmful because it often shifts the attention away from rape, which remains the bigger problem of the two.
