Soon enough, Mr. Seinfeld will get to experience age discrimination. At some point, people will want to stay off his lawn. So there's that.

Or just build your own and stick in the bottom of any old bag:

I really hoped it was better than that, but: If someone can just casually drop that at a party and expect to continue to have friends...I guess Oprah's not the only one waiting for certain folks and their entrenched ignorance to just die already.

I have been putting my hair up for a bath all wrong for years now.

Are you friends with time-travelers from the 50's? Was the party in an FLDS compound? Who even says that kind of shit with a straight face in 2014?

Lets hope they can use the juice from this exposure to develop something a little more interesting, 'cause this toy isn't very. Build on it....

Wow, Lupita Nyong'o looks spectacular in that dress. They should have put the white folks on the back of the fold, they're looking wan and pasty in this gorgeous group.

Oh ugh. They're actors. We project on them, that's how it works. There are a vanishingly small percentage of them that aren't total twits on one level or another. We should all be grateful they don't actually pop out of the screen and stay for dinner. (shudder)

Well, she didn't have the best role model...might be for the best. That is a horrible thing to say. I dislike that it is possible. (Her dad doesn't deserve grandchildren.)

Could be that obesity was a self-fulfilling prophecy due to snarky shaming comments from her dad falling on the ears of a person who was just developing normally but wasn't "insta sexxxxy" at puberty. You can't know everyone's story, but you can sure assume and judge: Its always open season on fat folks.

Interesting that more affluent people who can't be bothered to pay attention to their bills don't like it when they're treated like the poors. Still sucks for their kids, though.

We weren't friends, but I agree, it would be useful to see the numbers. I'm in CA, and the numbers are very hard to come by. Given the clusterfuck of regulations around every other aspect of school funding here, I can believe that the administration of the funds costs more than just tossing the paperwork and covering

I've read that. It doesn't seem like vast swathes of the folks who purport to be Christian are aware of it, in spite of kinda ridiculous amounts of time spent studying the bible. (Poor study skills?) Regardless, people who consider themselves in a position of judgement are imposing their interpretation on the rest of

Weren't these dresses made of polyester? Why not just stain the rest of the dress to match? (yeah, vintage, etc. but probably wasn't vintage when the stain happened)

Its very clear to the kids which of them gets the subsidized lunch, it is even less healthful than the regular school lunch, which is itself modified industrial waste that didn't make the cut to convenience store snack food batter. Parents with the means pack a lunch.

If it weren't for your water issues, it might be a nice place to emigrate to. You don't need my kids with their eternal shower needs. ;-)

My understanding, from discussions with the superintendent of our school district, is that it is actually more costly to administer who "deserves," or doesn't, free and reduced lunch, than it would be to just provide a free lunch to all the students.

I think we should give option 2 a try, regardless. The adult employed at a higher wage will inject more into the economy than three adults on welfare, thus enabling the employment of the other two who aren't flipping burgers anymore.

They were discussing this on KPCC on tuesday, and a briefly displaced American called in to whine about how expensive a soda, among other things, was when they lived in Australia because the minimum wage there is so high. Cheap soda is so much more important than dignity in labor, right?

I...have to watch that show now. That was awesome.
