I like to describe shade, when done well, as a single drop of poison in a jar of honey. It is the insult you THINK you've been given but can never be quite sure of.

I have so much to say about this! Thank you for writing about these two. I think a lot of young women find something to relate to in thier friendship.

My favorite Daria and Jane moment was the last episode - Boxing Daria. When Daria is inside the diner and Jane comes in and she just hugs her. That was really everything. That was Daria finally having a minor breakthrough about herself and then realizing Jane was the person she trusted most. Wonderful.

This really should've been called "The Legend of THIEF".

Play Ninja Gaiden on the NES and you will be very nostalgic for how easy and fair Mega Man is.

Megaman is not a platformer. Megaman is death.

Oh man, if they would have started them out on the Gutsman level or Iceman level it would have been a bloodbath. I beat Mega Man II and III long before I ever beat Mega Man - that game is brutal.

Tilda Swinton should be the Goblin Queen in Labyrinth 2.

Good Lord, these people have some sort of bizarre fetish for feeling persecuted and oppressed when literally nobody is persecuting or oppressing white, middle-class Protestant or evangelical Christians in this country (and I say that as a white, middle class Protestant. NO ONE is oppressing us.)

This approach is so confusing to me. I'd think that he'd side with the BIL (to a point at least) that all the consumerism hubbub isn't about Jesus, that BIL wants Christmas to be more solemn and religious and church-y. But Kirk is really just a corporate shill, it seems.
