I didn't realize "barely bi" was so offensive. That's on me. Is it offensive to think about bi as a spectrum, like 50/50 or 30/70? I don't know. I've got gay friends, but not really any bi friends, so no one's filled me in.

Why don't you define it for me?
I fear I simply got sloppy. I don't actually care if he's bi or not.
To be clearer, I never meant to argue that Constantine MUST be straight (though I think that got really lost somewhere along the way). I wouldn't even care if they played up the bi.
Fair enough.
Totally didn't mean to imply that. Am kind of switching between guy/dude/boy interchangeably for vocab variety. Comment edited.
Maybe I just don't know the scene and the lingo, but if a dude stops sleeping with dudes and just sticks to chicks, is he still bi?
My impression here is that people want him to be a very prominent bi role model.
Yeah, that was lame. Sorry.
Gives one specific instance, and it wasn't exactly a standard relationship. It was basically a long con. (I'm not saying it doesn't count, but I'd definitely give it an asterisk.)
This is a character who doesn't label himself.
Yeah, these guys are just producers. Let's see what the writers bring to the table.
Fair enough.
The character has never self-identified as "bi".
I'm totally ok with them acknowledging it in the series.
I completely agree with you here.
What I see is that some bi folks want a media role model, and they're disappointed that the producers are not turning a barely bi character into a out-and-proud one.
Wow, it's like you're not even reading the words that I'm typing.
The executive producer said "there are no immediate plans".
He didn't say "No way Jose."
So, it still could happen. But, given that Hellblazer went 300 issues without giving him a single on-camera male liaison, I think it's unfair to say they're fundamentally changing the character by not giving him some pole in the…
I'm just trying to point out that the source does not suggest that Constantine is a strong bisexual. Has he had some flings? Sure, but they're only mentioned in passing, no specifics, and all instances are implied to have happened in his teens or early 20s. After that, it's all chicks. The character lives to be…
