Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

Affirmative

I will second the nomination of the Windstar, or as we called mine, the Windscar. Base base BASE model (cast-iron 3.0, no a/c, no power widows, mirrors or locks, no rear defroster, etc.) Completely and totally uninspiring to drive, would run out of gas on a hill if you had less than a quarter tank, a frustrating

Despite my username I feel no attraction to this or any other malaise era tank. Perhaps ‘signifying nothing’ is appropriate for my lack of interest.

Thanks for the kind words. So far I’m winning this battle - the tumor was removed (along with half of my colon and my appendix), no spread of the disease, lymph nodes clean, CEA level back in the ‘normal’ range. I still have polyps in the left colon so we’ll need to watch those, so that means lots of testing and

As someone currently battling this disease (chemo starts Monday) I'm with you 100%. The moment this illness disappears will not be a moment too soon.

The last time I went looking for a brochure, for a 2019 Volt, the salesman informed me that they no longer print them but just have a link to a PDF. Not quite the same tactile sensation...

Way back when I wanted to buy a brand new Mazda GLC (remember those?), but then the GTI came out and I bought that instead. I grew up in a household dominated by German cars and that’s all I considered for years. After moving away from jobs that paid obscene amounts of money I decided that I wanted something simple

After decades of German cars, I have recently discovered that I can have a fun-to-drive vehicle that has this heretofore unknown concept called ‘reliability’. Yeah, no, I don’t think I'm going back...

As I discovered with my GTI, your car doesn’t rack up many miles when on the back of a flatbed...

I had this same issue when I bought my Mazda5 back in 2012. Luxury goodies or manual transmission? I decided to give up the toys and get the manual, figuring that I could add most of the other stuff in if I wanted it. I’ve had plenty of luxury and sports cars, so much of the stuff I may be missing isn’t anything I

Looking at it on the phone I couldn’t tell which was which. Is that a good or bad thing?

Why not - he’s already quite familiar with poutin...

Just disable the power brakes, power steering and air conditioning. All the health benefits without having to stop the vehicle to exercise.

Right - lots of excellent restaurants that probably adjust the seasoning level to compensate for the altitude.

From what I’ve read, your senses of taste and smell don’t work as well at higher altitude, and as a result they over-season the in-flight meals to make them taste like something, anything. Hopefully they’ve toned down the salt content for ground consumption.

No problem - all we need is some of that transparent aluminum. Just ask Scotty, he’ll give you the recipe.

Pfft. Back in my day we didn’t even get a body. Or suspension. And we had to make do with square pistons. Square! And we liked it that way...

I heard a tale of a team having a hard time opening a fuel filler door, and when they pried it open they found the tip of a finger.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

I had a GTI in high school and college with that same red interior. Loved the color, hated the gauges. Friends and family all had German made German cars, and I preferred the instruments in all of those because they weren’t so busy, with markings for each MPH. Those gauges are just too busy IMHO.
