Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

The sedan should have died off years ago. Other than a little extra security for your belongings in that locked box in the back a trunk really doesn’t offer much practicality. Back when the trunk was an actual trunk on the back of the vehicle it made a little more sense since that could be removed, but now a trunk has

Perhaps he should start...

What a glorious sight. I grew up in OC, and even though I now live 1,800 miles away I still think of it as home. It’s nice to see the place I love come to its senses.

This reminds me of the air on a regular basis in the LA basin back in the ‘70s. A typical day involved burning eyes, difficulty breathing and limited visibility.

Well, I wouldn’t say that car sales reps are exactly the most knowledgeable about the products they sell TBH, at least not on the lower end of the spectrum. The BMW salesman I dealt with in the past was quite good and sharp, but no amount of salesmanship could get me to spring for an E60 he was trying to push me into.

Agreed. The price can be described as ‘bad’ or ‘ass’ but certainly not ‘bad ass’.

Minivan driver by choice here, and, to the best of my knowledge, childless. For me the 6MT in mine is just fine.

Not in the US they didnt. Canada got it on both of their trim levels, and Europe probably got it on all models, albeit with diesels and small petrol motors. Having previously owned various luxury and performance cars (968, E34, W210), I had to give up the toys I was accustomed to in order to get the manual in my 2012

Thank you.

I respectfully disagree. This one is more fun than any minivan has a right to be.

And I guess you knew I wouldn’t be far behind...

Not a Vanagon motor, but one from an LT, a similar-looking vehicle which is even truckier than a Vanagon (and predates it by 5 years) and that was never sold in the US thanks to the chicken tax.

Dare I say something like this would actually be infinitely more useful?

‘Hulking’ 2.7l?

I just meant Rabbit pickups in general. I did mine in the late ‘80s, before the VR6 came out, but it was a beast. 2.1l, big lumpy cam, tubular headers and almost no muffler. Seriously scaryfast. I was trying to channel the spirit of my old Rabbit GTI, but no matter what I did I could never make it handle worth a damn.

I hear there are a lot of people around here that like Jeep FCs and lots that like German cars, so, well, uh...

I owned one of those. No.

My dad is officially an old and just leased a Volt. He's gotten used to it, but for the first three or four days I kept banging my head getting in out. But I'm used to a minivan whereas he was accustomed to a little ducking in his previous car, an E-Class.

How many extra points do I get if my minivan has a 6MT? It’s truly a Jalopnik special, especially because this is in the US and not Canada or Europe. Purchased new, no less.
