Not a Vanagon motor, but one from an LT, a similar-looking vehicle which is even truckier than a Vanagon (and predates it by 5 years) and that was never sold in the US thanks to the chicken tax.

Dare I say something like this would actually be infinitely more useful?

‘Hulking’ 2.7l?

I just meant Rabbit pickups in general. I did mine in the late ‘80s, before the VR6 came out, but it was a beast. 2.1l, big lumpy cam, tubular headers and almost no muffler. Seriously scaryfast. I was trying to channel the spirit of my old Rabbit GTI, but no matter what I did I could never make it handle worth a damn.

I hear there are a lot of people around here that like Jeep FCs and lots that like German cars, so, well, uh...

I owned one of those. No.

My dad is officially an old and just leased a Volt. He's gotten used to it, but for the first three or four days I kept banging my head getting in out. But I'm used to a minivan whereas he was accustomed to a little ducking in his previous car, an E-Class.

...until it happens to someone in their family, and then they’ll loudly complain (that somehow it’s the fault of some dang librul...)

How many extra points do I get if my minivan has a 6MT? It’s truly a Jalopnik special, especially because this is in the US and not Canada or Europe. Purchased new, no less.

I can understand the desire for a taller vehicle, but can’t see myself in an SUV/CUV or truck. I’ll just be that weirdo in the corner with his minivans...

Based on some limited personal observations, I would tend to agree with you. When the first iPhone came out I was working at a local airport, struggling to keep a roof over my head and keep registration and insurance current on a beat-up minivan I got for $1. But I had co-workers who were making less than me with this

So, an all Japanese Evora? I like it...

Yup - two different connectors in 15 years really threw me for a loop, three if you count the Micro USB ports on the Mophie cases.

Although not the same capacity, I do something similar using DVRs. I pick them up at the Goodwill Outlet for $0.99/lb and tear them open for the drives. They’re AV rated drives meant for 24/7 operation and are usually quite reliable. I normally get 500GB and 1TB drives in 3.5" and 2.5" sizes, avoiding units with

Re: Uighurs

My earliest memory, dating back to when I was just 3 years old, is having a kraut dog with my dad. Later on my order changed to include the full chili cheese menu (dog, burger and fries), with a kraut dog tossed in as well - complete and total overkill.

In the 45 years I lived in OC/LA, I don’t know if I ever went to Fatburger. I have been to The Counter but haven’t heard of Burger Lounge. Russell’s was always a favorite with me and my co-workers at Hughes Aircraft down in Long Beach, a place my dad turned me on to, but I think they went out of business back in the

In two days I’ll be on my way to SoCal for a little vacation and escape from the rust belt. On my list of things to do are a stops at a few favorite fast food joints that I can’t get here in the midwest (Wienerschnitzel, Yoshinoya, Del Taco, etc.); you don’t need to tell me that they’re garbage because I already know

People are looking at me as I drive along because every time Dolt 45's voice comes over the radio, no matter what he’s saying, I just keep shouting “FUCK YOU TRUMP!” until I change the station. I really want to keep abreast of the news, but at the same time I’m getting a rather sore throat from all of this screaming.
