My first car, a B1 Passat (Dasher) Wagon had a brown leatherette interior. I probably still have scars on the back of my legs from sitting on those seats after they absorbed a day’s worth of SoCal sunshine. I quickly learned to just sit on a beach towel...

If only I could get a set of the Recaros that were in my old GTI - I loved those seats:

This is one of the advantages of buying a car with a transmission in the US - the manufacturer forces you into cloth seats, and that is perfectly fine by me.

These are the greatest things ever. Years ago I sold a BMW to a friend of mine and one of the first things he did was to toss the sheepskin covers I used because he thought all seat covers were cheap and cheesy. After a week he regretted the decision, went to get replacements and found out how much the good ones cost.

Look for wrecked vehicles and see if you can find that wheel on the cheap. Because I wanted the manual transmission I didn’t get the leather wheel on my Mazda, but $50 on eBay got me the OEM part that the car should have had from the factory.

For used vehicles, perhaps import a car from the Indian domestic market. Somehow I doubt that they would have leather seats.

I grabbed a bite at Burger King the other day and asked for a cup for some water. The manager was very sweet and said it would be OK if I had some soda instead of water. That was nice of her, but I really don’t like sugary drinks. Water with a little lemon is just fine by me, and usually what I get even if I order a

True, that’s what they do now, but years ago there really wasn’t the extra effort put forth into using the lighter weight materials. Times have changed, and I was referring to the old way of lightening the car and your wallet simultaneously (what can I say - I’m old...) My apologies if my description was a tad vague.

In the high-end automotive world it is common for the better performing models to have many once-standard items removed (air conditioning, sound deadening, radio, carpets) yet have the price increased. Charging more for less would not be without precedence.

.

So, what kind of miracle paper do they use in that packaging to prevent the H12O6 from soaking through and dripping out? Enquiring minds want to know...

Just make virtual windows. Newer cruise ships are using large LED panels to give occupants of cabins in the center of the ship the feel that they have a window. It would work quite well on aircraft since you don't have to worry about the structural implications of cutting a hole in the side of the fuselage.

Like most Airbus products, it may have been designed to hold two occupants but they'll find a way to cram six seats in there...

Oops. Well, consider yourself one of the few that does.

I’ll give you a B for effort, but a D in spelling.

Haynes manuals? Pffft. Bentley manuals, my good man, Bentley...

OK, you’re just screwing with us now, right? This post is just trolling to see how many people will vote NP just to be ‘edgy’. Nope - not gonna play your game (even though I reflexively selected CP - c’mon, any Allroad over $1,750 is automatic CP).

I have the same problem with the natural gas bill here in St Louis. In SoCal I paid $10/mo for gas. In STL I still pay $10 for the gas and another $25 for pipes and delivery. Too bad I can’t negotiate this like I can at a dealership...

Or in my case, I had to give up a lot of the things I wanted (Bluetooth, trip computer, fog lights, CD changer, etc.) in order to get the manual transmission I wanted. I hate that they treat me like a cheapskate just because I want to shift for myself.
