Not a good month PR-wise for the Dominican Republic.

I feel kind of bad for Craig Stammen, but I really hope this happens to Baumgarner one day, just to watch him lose his voice yelling at all the home run hitters going 1-2-3-4 on him.

ESPN is reporting the NBA issued this statement, banning Stevens from all nba games while the matter is under review. Hoping they make it a lifetime ban.

Yeah, the Merc used to be on the verge of becoming sort of *the* national news outlet for Valley stories, but they seemed to just miss grabbing that ring. The hedge fund fucks gutted the paper, as you note, and I suspect they did it precisely to prevent having an investigative unit in their own backyard. I feel like

And Cooley would accuse the player of being a drunk and then ask Snyder if he could try out for the team at training camp again.

PS: Laura, you should also reach out to those beat reporters and ask them why they tried so hard to avoid doing their jobs and protected Stevens after he did what he did. I’d love to read their answers — I mean excuses.

And for some reason, one that probably begins with “access” and ends with “is poison,” none of the Warriors beat writers, who are most knowledgeable about the team and its owners, reported the news either.

That whole series was a lot of fun to watch. The crowd is so into the game, the cameras and mics pick up every bit of chatter from the players, the fielding was (generally) excellent, the pitching ridiculous, and the late-inning bombs were timed for maximum drama.

Four would’ve been better. Season 5 was dreck.

Off-topic, I know, but I’m kind of surprised to see that at least 4 players who have been on the Nats roster this season are on the sponsor-shedding AAA Fresno Grizzlies. I guess they want to keep their best prospects as far away from a Rosenthal fastball as possible.

It’s def safe to say it. Might not be 100% accurate, but it’s a safe bet.

I’m gonna predict that Haney is an oblivious old white man.

“The toughest part of this whole thing is, if Dustin retires I’ll never get another chance to slide 10 feet past the bag and use my spikes to injure him. Takes all the fun out of the game for me.”

The thought process almost certainly goes like this: “This is crazy dangerous! What are all these idiots doing up here? They never should allow so many people to congregate on this narrow, deadly trail in this cruel, life-averse environment! Also, I paid $75,000 to get this far so I’m going to sit here cursing

No, but it’s also probably mind-numbing and after 45 seconds a reasonable person without any ugly motivations might say, “Looks good. What’s next on my to-do list?” And move on.

I will say I can very easily believe that a well-intentioned, if not thorough, person could do a search on YouTube for something innocuous like, “Memorial day” and YouTube would immediately vomit up this title, along with dozens of even-worse examples of hateful, nazi-friendly videos. YouTube is a toilet and all the

He died doing what he loved: experiencing hypothermia and pulmonary edema, confused, unable to breathe, feeling his pulse plummeting, and falling down in a place where his body may never be recovered. But on the other hand, he did put a lot of other people’s lives at risk in the process. So there’s that.

You could’ve ended your comment after the first sentence. The dread is fully conjured, right there in those 17 words.

He’s definitely no Bradley Beal.
