The others might be weirder, but what Too Many Cooks has going for it is near-flawless escalation timing. You think you get the joke 30 seconds in, but they keep managing to up the ante in weird and unexpected ways. Almost as soon as you know where they’re going they throw in something you didn’t see coming but is just

Seems like only yesterday they were raping my childhood, and now look, *sniff* they’re already raping my mid to late twenties. They grow up so fast.

It was a beautiful song but it ran too long, if you’re gonna have a hit you gotta make it fit, so they cut it down to three-oh-five

There’s a few good episodes later on, including one surprisingly brilliant one just before the heavily serialised last few episodes. As a self-professed huge Futurama guy, you’d probably enjoy a lot of what they go for in the run’s back half. Despite it being a messy run I’m certainly optimistic for where the show can

I get the point you’re making about how not-seriously that scene should be taken, but doesn’t the fact that watching the entire movie would ruin your enjoyment of the scene kinda prove the point that they’re failures within the context of the movie?

I hope Archie goes to same prison as Ollie AND Rachel from Crazy-Ex Girlfriend AND that they become the new Suicide Squad.

He really is... all that.

Two that I can think of are Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel, which seemed to be in every trailer for awhile, but always worked, and The Passenger by Iggy Pop. Hearing those two makes me think good things about the movie without seeing it.

You certainly won’t hear it anymore, but back in the 90's, it seemed like every trailer was gaga for cuing up the Finale from Dragonheart. I would be here for that, as the kids say.

Yes and No. I like Gyllenhall, obviously she’s the better actress, but Holmes reminded me more of every ambitious righteous girl I knew who went to law school. Gyllenhall’s Rachel would have gone into environmental law and tied herself to a tree that was being leveled for a pipeline.
