The remake really did stand in the way of me giving fully over to it. If she had randomly decided to use the original Lion King as a loose framework as an album and sample dialog from it, I would have likely thought it was insanely brilliant but instead the dialog clips took me out of it a little bit. That is not in

I’m so happy to see this season getting some love, I heard it was a lower rated entry for this series. As far as I am concerned, this was the greatest season of reality TV ever produced. Drama-filled without ever feeling mean, horny as fuck, beautiful cast, terrible decisions. It ruined me for all other reality shows.

I really don’t think Eurovision is something you can parody, it’s almost like trying to specifically achieve “camp.” It’s impossible. This was more wish-fulfillment in wanting to perform in Eurovision and even as someone who is only occasionally aware of it when a performance goes viral, I instantly picked up what

Very few comedies will age flawlessly. So much comedy is built around discomfort. It’s inevitable that discomfort in a ha-ha! way can shift to just plain uncomfortable and back again. There is definitely a difference between straight racism and satirical racism and I don’t think we should shy away from satire entirely.

There’s also a really harsh subtext for childless adults in there. You certainly don’t *have* to take that away from it and I certainly don’t think there’s any intentional messaging there...but I know some folks who had a hard time with it for *that* reason. It’s a weirdly complex movie. There’s a lot going on.

It’s impossible to withstand. It’s the animation. The way her face lights up and just kind of keeps....opening...into this...amazing...life-giving...smile. I cried but also made “awwwwwwwwwwwwww” sounds. It is more of a happy cry for me.

I was annoyed but then ultimately appreciated that they forced you to make that choice at the end. Because I thought about (and occasionally keep thinking about) that choice in a way that I wouldn’t have if it were up to me. Doesn’t mean it will be as effective this time around, but that’s the hurdle for all sequels.

Looking at Cowboy Bebop in a vacuum, I don’t think any of the characters are strongly coded as any particular race. They seem to be intentionally a mish-mosh, which is a) the whole ethos of the show and b) makes logical sense. Does living on Singapore mean much if you can also live on Mars or Venus? And most of the

I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid but as soon as I saw the title of that YouTube video, I heard it in my brain. I think I've been subconsciously using that exclamation in my head this whole time.

Absolutely. They did such a good job world building on this show. There are no throw away characters. If someone is introduced, you learn a little about them. Their favorite color or food or that thing that guys does that annoys them. It’s how the whole cast can change allegiances 9 times and you never stop rooting

Called out! I said I can’t remember but it was Zuko. It was always Zuko. But Catra is clawing her way up there, pun intended.

I love this show so much, one of the most pleasant pop culture surprises in recent memory. I also can't remember the last time I rooted this hard for the villain to get their shit together. Come on, Catra. Make me proud.

Yes. The first and last films in the trilogy feel like they were made at gunpoint. Or like, in Annie Wilkes’ cabin.

Right, right. I thought I would have noticed if he wasn’t there but I also couldn’t remember the specific bits he was in.

Was Roland really not in the final episode? I didn’t notice, which I guess is telling. It felt like it took a looooong time for them to figure out that character but once they settled on “prickly slacker” instead of various shades of stupid or deranged, he worked as a foil for Johnny. Especially as Stevie’s role and

The one moment where I full-on sobbed watching this show. Teared up at some other occasions, but that one broke me.

That is the biggest tragedy of the whole thing. They built up this woman for 9 seasons. She was guaranteed to be a let down and somehow she wasn’t. They nailed it! They nailed the impossible! And then hit the reset button as if they hadn’t. It was insane. It was like sticking the landing and then double birding the

I feel like “death or disappearance” is the typical phrasing and that will specifically did not mention death. Which seemed extra weird. As it was presented.

That was the most heartbreaking moment of the series. I have heard several people say something along the lines of “in the end, Joe was the sanest one” but I would never go that far. He might have been the least crazy, in that he appears to have a sliver of self-awareness. But he deserves to be in jail. The only

I was 95% convinced that Carol did not kill her husband, his frequent trips to Costa Rica were mysterious enough (at least as presented in the series) that almost anything could have happened to him...until the will. The will that did not specific death but instead said “disappearance.”
