You really think Girls takes itself seriously? Dunham has made it clear that you aren’t actually supposed to find most of the characters likable or sincere — she knows they’re all ridiculous, silly, privileged narcissists, and she plays that up all the time on the show. I never find it serious.

It came out when I was a freshman in college and I was 99% sure it was speaking DIRECTLY TO MY HEART.
