I actually like it, especially when they name influences that I also like. It's really all about me.

It's important to have online forums moderated. It's not just to protect the feelings of the elected official, but also not to offend the general public who are dialing in to have a serious discussion.
Wrong. Blacks are Democrats primarily because of the things I pointed out to you before: the Voting Rights Act, the Civil Rights Act, and affirmative action. Democrats don't pretend that racism doesn't exist like Republicans do. Democrats recognize that the government had a hand in oppressing people and can have a…
No one thinks that blacks *have* to vote for Democrats. There are plenty of examples of prominent black Republicans for everyone to know that black people don't have to be Democrat. However, the vast majority of black people are Democrat for the simple fact that Republicans have done very little to *earn* black…
Do Republicans today support the Voting Rights Act, the Civil Rights Act, affirmative action, and marriage equality? Why should they get credit today for stances they abandoned 40 years ago?
Is it better to support a party that is in line with me philosophically, but occasionally does a bad job of execution, or is it better to support a party that is in no way in line with me philosophically, and does just as bad a job at execution, if not worse?
I think this gets to the heart of the matter.
Yes, I've always loved him, too. The news of his career's demise was way premature. He never stopped making good movies, though he did have a few stinkers mixed in, but what major Hollywood actor doesn't? I think it was more a case of the inevitable backlash that the media heaps on really popular stars.
I agree, she was a decent actress. She was a bit of a break out talent in Selena and Out of Sight, and was becoming a serious actress. Then she became a pop star for some reason and ruined her acting career. So yeah, awful pop music and rom coms until she gets too old for them.
They treat them like gods, but they don't follow their example for day-to-day living. Parents, teachers, church, peers etc. are much more influential than celebrities for life decisions that kids make.
I just don't think entertainers have that much influence in the long run, particularly about how to live life.
You aren't alone. He's very handsome, and I'm drawn to people with expert skills. I'm also a fan of prestidigitation. I'm not so impressed with his stunts, though.
People don't need to look to entertainers for examples of how to live.
The last time I saw her in some interview after an event, she looked her age, in the best possible meaning. She looked extremely classy and well put together. I don't know why she felt the need to do this act of desperation.
You can try to find a white hipster to cut your hair, OR . . . .
Ha! I guess you're right about that. I don't even think about them that deeply, but they are the picture of 1950's patriarchal ideal. Successful entrepreneur follows in his father's footsteps of business and politics; supportive wife stays at home, managing her staff of nannies, maids, landscapers, and horsekeepers…
Ha! Yeah, I don't get the idea that "women and minorities" are jealous of their perfection, as if 1) we don't have "perfect" families of our own or 2) we don't know that the Romneys aren't *actually* perfect, just like no one's family is perfect. If anything, Mitt Romney's family makes zero impact on me. It's a nice…
I would never hate on Romney's family, but calling his sons an "amorphous horde" seems spot on.
The girl has been eating. Who wouldn't be happy about that? :)
Yes! A corset would def. make her walk weird.
