Batman, Superman, hell even Green Lantern got his own animated series. It’s been long overdue for her.

If commenters here don’t feel that an amusement park franchise with over 60 years of saccharine-sweet adventure is accurate, rapey or brutal enough in its depiction, might I recommend they watch the ALSO-FUCKING-FICTIONAL-but-more-on-point Starz series, Black Sails.

You get all the 18th century cruelty of the

It’s Tulsa, Oklahoma so you know this cop will get off scot-free. Most of them are already saying it was a public service.

I think my biggest problem with it is how anodyne and pablum-like the magic in that universe is. It’s all the old mystery and evocations with ancient wisdom, but with the corners rounded off for safety.

Give me a return to the dark, hubris-rife Scholomance stories of yore.

I think this and time travel plots are the two greatest underminers of any narrative. One to suffocate, dull and confine your plot going forward and the other to unravel, destroy and delegitimize your plot going backward.

Has anyone been reading that revamp comic? Is it any good?

Visionaries.

At the 5 minute mark of the full video, I began to question how little use of his legs he actually has.

Wouldn’t be the first person to falsely exploit row 6 availability.

People forget how vociferously she threw a tantrum over the Neil Jordan flick just before it came out.

The buckle on your hat is too tight, Cotton Mather.

The resistance to changing Iron Fist is kind of fascinating to me, in that it comes from comic fans who know good and goddamn well these characters change, sometimes as often as every decade, sometimes as often as every year. And the acceptance to this constant change is so arbitrary.

Luke Cage was based off of dated

This is hysterically incorrect, to the point where it makes me wonder if you’ve been exposed to Batman outside of the movies.

Batman-as-ninja is a creation of the Nolan films. It’s an idea that’s only twelve years old and was never once mentioned in collusion with each other until Goyer’s script. Not even Frank

In like-unto’s defense and as a fellow fan, I’d wager he’s hesitant to weigh in until he’s laid eyeballs on it.

But yeah I was worried before when Luke Cage ended mighty wobbly. Iron Fist, especially Brubaker’s amazing take on him, deserves so much more than what seems to have been portrayed. :( Potential squandered,

Right? The Sleeper’s pretty much THE flagship character of the universe.

I like the cut of your jib, sir.

The “i’m a fan and you’re not” argument is paper-mache thin on their part. I’m a massive fan of the character, have been for decades now, and I know full well that what critics are describing is ABSOLUTELY plausible given the clunky backstory of Danny Rand, the goddamn showrunner that drove Dexter into a Brawny paper

I kind of always preferred the JLU version of him, Devil Ray.

But I like Rocky IV. :(

GOH... dude... c’mon now. The unrelenting fountain of hatred that is these guys, and how that manifests in their Energizer Bunny-esque drive, isn’t anything new. It’s been in the lore since a burn ward Vader was an idea (pretty much prior to Empire) and has continued on like a retroactive circuit through the Sith lore
