High frame rate does not give people headaches as others have also said, what gives people headaches is mostly the field of view often abbreviated to FoV.
You talk as if the PC platform is all over the place, when really hardware advancement has slowed down greatly in past years and there really is a solid baseline in terms of what most modern PC platforms can do.

I pick 60FPS (and higher), 1080p (and higher) and the best graphics. That's why I pick a PC over consoles (next to a million other advantages like openness). I still find it sad that 60fps/1080p isn't standard yet for consoles, even though full HD has been the standard when last generation just came out...
