Come for the parkour, stay for the functional cosplay design.
The parkour elements in Titanfall make movement really fun, but we all know a Titan pilot wouldn't be able to do…
Great write-up! I truly have been impressed by how open Ismail and his colleagues have been with sharing their experiences. Always interesting to hear the back stories behind their games.
Auto-loaders exist for a reason.
This might look like a photo of Benczúr Gyula's classic 1885 painting Budavár visszavétele (Buda Repossession),…
Then you get a extremely heavy tank. Batteries are not as light as they seem, the Tesla Model S has a curb weight of over 2 tons, now imagine that with a tank. In addition, you need a power system that can create enough torque to get the tank rolling, and then keep it moving at around 40 miles per hour. Looking at the…
Separating the IC generator from the vehicle is hugely bad idea when it comes to combat. You introduce a level of uncertainty over re-charging that no combat commander would accept. And you gain nothing thereby.
If I were you..I would work out how much a Prius ways more than say an equivalent Corolla say..And work from that Ratio.
Not really a fail when you look at mission parameters. Range, in particular, is important, and battery-powered motors lose about half their range when it's cold outside. They also tend to add weight and complexity to a vehicle that is already heavy and complex. But most of all, diesels can be both fixed and refueled…
Terrible idea. Electric motors have a lot of advantages, but range anxiety is 10x worse on the battlefield. You still cannot beat the emergy density of liquid fossil fuels.
you would also need 5 tons of batteries, vs about 400 lbs of fuel. you would also have to plug it in every 5 minutes, because no battery technology is possibly capable of moving a 50 ton TANK across rough terrain, over buildings, churches, mountains, and through wild bieber fans.
What's the range on a 40 or 50 ton tank w/ an electric motor?
God, a traditionally animated movie with this much detail would be fucking mind blowing. It would also probably cost a few hundred million dollars, take ten years, and probably do poorly in theaters because mainstream traditionally animated movies don't really perform well anymore unless it's an anime movie in japan.
It's probably filled with people waiting for the next volume of A Song of Fire and Ice who are likely to die before it goes to print.
Dead Island had the greatest bait-and-switch game trailer in recent memory. It was a decent game, but literally nothing like the trailer except for the setting and zombies. There were no emotionally wrenching scenes in the game itself, no well-done music, or memorable characters. Still, I did enjoy playing it.
