As polarizing as Bangle's design language was, it really grew on me. I didn't like the first couple of things he did (the 7-series and Z4), but by the time he got around to doing the 5-series, i thought he had really hit the nail on the head. It was distinctive, tight and athletic looking.

The 787 is not "all carbon fiber"... it makes extensive use of carbon fiber-reinforced plastics and other composites, but does still use aluminum, titanium and other "traditional" materials fairly extensively. According to Wikipedia, the advanced composites only make up 50% of the 787's mass.

The old light cycles were clearly raster-based and could only move along the contours of square pixels. The new light cycles are vector-based, moving along the splines of bézier curves.
