I genuinely don’t know: If a player signs a deal in the off-season and is cut in the preseason, do they not get paid at all? I understand that the payment schedule is based on game checks, but players have to get paid for pre-season, right?

Saying a game is good or is a solid value for the money is not relevant to saying it’s generous. Again, I’m sure it’s a great game. There are simply mechanisms in place that encourage the player to spend additional monies after purchase of the game, making it less generous than games without such mechanisms.

Fair criticism! Though, that factor impacts both non-100% options, so it’s likely a wash. 

Exactly. It’s simple stats. In the NFL, you’re 9% responsible for the play (1 person to your 10 professional teammates). In the NBA, you’re 20%. In the MLB, you’re 100%.

How many employees are we talking, I wonder?  If it’s like 1-2, I can understand that happening without anyone realizing it’s not properly inclusive, but if it’s 15-20, that’s an egregious oversight.

You’re confusing “full of content” with “generous”. The game that has less content but is 100% included in the cost of purchase is inherently more generous than the game that has more content, if you have to pay additional monies to access that content.
