I wonder if by promoting him before firing him they made him sign additional waivers.

Stories like this make me want to go full on communist even though I know thats stupid too.

I used to work in an office with a similar (unwritten) policy. It was absolutely toxic.

Somebody please tell that attention w****

Thanks! I made it 6 minutes in, and couldn’t so it anymore, so I got some cliffs. That said, to R Kelly. OK. We all knew you were an illiterate pedophile... You didn’t have to make a 19 minute song about it.

F him and all those who support him. And support includes listening to his music in any form or fashion.

So, I noticed this song and was definitely curious about what it was, but I certainly wasn’t going to actually listen to it. Thank you Anne.

It’s often like this for retail and food service—anything “entry level”. I literally worked my ass off at Starbucks for 2 days with appendicitis, only to get fired a year later for schedule conflicts with another job... that I only had to get because my hours kept getting cut... and I wasn’t given any time to correct

Wish I could give a thousand stars. I’ve seen too many people get caught up in a corporate culture with a sense of loyalty to the company. It’s amazing the kind of shit people will put up with just because they “love the company”.

Tri-Care pays, like, 90% but that’s only for the medical expenses. He would have been hoping for the sick leave pay and disability benefits that they were supposed to pay him.

I used to work for Home Depot and a co-worker told me once that part of the process of becoming a manager is you have to rat out other workers, no matter how small the infraction. If you are unable or unwilling to do this, you will not be promoted. That’s what I was told and after working there for five years, I believ

what guts me is this is just par for the course at most jobs. you give your time, effort, and heart, and they can just toss you aside and that’s legally allowed in the eyes of the law. it destroys lives and companies can just do it for whatever reason they pull out of their asses that day.

Anyone who has worked retail knows that you are given contradictory, nearly impossible demands: interact with customers, offer add-on sales, etc. but also keep your area clean, create/change displays, etc.

Does Mr. Hall not have VA benefits? I can see how employer benefits might be preferable, though.

No kidding! I’ve waited :15 minutes for someone to even notice me. They must be firing supervisors all the time if that’s the standard.

I bought a fixer upper a few years back, and have made trips to home depot to buy supplies or tools at least every other week since. I have NEVER been approached by a home depot employee. not once. ever. In fact I usually need to find and speak to at least 2 people to get questions answered

i hate asking for help at home depot because they usually end up fucking me over and i have to come back. i hate going there with my father, who insists on asking people for help even though i’m right there and know what im doing.

and that means we’re spending time looking for someone to ask the question i already know

It frightens me that you literally jeopardized your life for that company.

So much wrong with this, but this part right here:

If a company publicly touts themselves as supporting veterans, I usually just assume they are full of bullshit until they prove otherwise. Like almost all politicians, the term “supporting veterans” is just lip service until it comes time to actually back it up. I guarantee you that if a homeless veteran waked into

Around May, Hall said, he was brought in for a meeting with two managers, Assistant Store Manager Lee and Assistant Store Manager Steve, who sat him down in the office and reiterated the need for him to make sure that associates are interacting with customers.
