so did Virginia, Ohio, and Alabama. None of them explicitly offered a tax break but they all went in with something along the lines of “let’s talk.”

On one hand I can’t stand corporate welfare but on the other hand, the Georgia legislative and executive branches are a bunch lily-livered cowards who bend over even when the NRA didn’t ask. I fell sorry for the customers in this fight.
Part of me wants Delta to pull Georgia’s card, but part of me doesn’t because the upheaval and job loss that would occur will disproportionately impact black and brown folks. Again.
They don’t even hide their alliances anymore do they?
I’m not sure - and I’m also not sure they’re serious - but I think New York already offered Delta a tax break if Georgia won’t deal. (Of course, I have all sorts of thoughts about all of that ...)
SERIOUSLY? You idiots are gonna fuck with Delta, a major employer, and a company whose use as Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport brings in a ton of people, business and money over the fact they’re no longer offering (I’m assuming, very minimal) discounts to NRA members?
THIS is the hill you are choosing to die on?
okay…
She was in one of those terrible movies about a teenager being terminally ill that I saw recently while puttering around the apartment. But I watched the whole thing because I found her so charming. I didn’t recognize her and when I saw her name in the credits, I was like, “of course it’s Amandla.”
Wow... Even at her age she has more wisdom and self awareness than a nation full for Becky’s, Chad’s, and honestly, a whole bunch of her black elders too. I wish her all the success, not that she needs me to...
Damn. She is so awesome. I was wondering where she had been, and it’s good to know she is here for the long haul (and conscientiously so as well). This kind of mentality should be absorbed by all kinds of people in all manners of life.
Gurl. I think he’s bristling because he didn’t expect such resistance to his botting over here since his boy was installed, honestly. I don’t believe all his dark boasting (it’s pretty standard strongman dystopic) but I think it would really be a great idea if the national security infrastructure started investigating…
Honorable mentions usually heard from other black folks:
I only end up over there when I am following someone’s comments in my feed. I followed something Major Burn said a few days ago and found a bunch of people trashing sex workers. It was gross, especially because there were actual sex workers in the thread pointing out how wrong some of the folks were about their value…
The hood really needs a PR agent. I tell people I’m from the hood and they either A) don’t believe me or B) think I converted to being a dork in prison.
Right. I guess what I was trying to get across was that if the goal was to highlight black women, they had a pretty good opportunity in that February and March are right next to each other. 31-days-or-less pockets aren’t enough for women’s history or black history? Great! We have two months right together where we can…
At some family gatherings the kids have a whole room to themselves. For a reason.
I’m looking at peoples’ comment histories and then at what they write and remembering some things I’ve read about Russian-backed trolls and how they try and sow dissent and stoke racial tensions and some of them even post under names like Blacktivist.
I’m not really sure. And tbh, I can be really hot or cold with my comments. But like if I do that here, one of the Root staff will come in and tell me to relax. Over on Jez, I just get banned.
We have faith in you (you! and the Root) and because of that I know a lot of us are looking forward to this partnership.
What the heck did you get banned for? Jezebel has straight up trolls that manage to keep posting therefor months, sometimes years. Hard to imagine you getting banned.
Hey Hachi!
