It's not the romance itself that I object to, but the fact that there's no way steerage ragamuffin Jack gets anywhere near 1st-class spaces.

The romance is one of the more believable elements of the movie, although their meet-cute is highly implausible.

I mentioned the spectacle…
(Said in Elaine Benes voice)

"The characters in Michael Bay movies"

"punches should look like they hurt"

Yeah, the Matrix is a good one.

I was 12 when The Day After premiered. I was too young to be emotionally invested in the backstories, but the aftermath…that was pretty intense.

The Wire. It's referenced all the time and I feel both clueless when those references appear, but also intentionally don't research them because one day I will watch it.

Thumbs up for the spectacle of Titanic in theaters. But I want to downvote the movie's script and plot…

Don't forget, it's a world that is flat!!!

I loved it. The sequel Dark Sun is also quite good.

Ok!

First Point - I thought you were saying that writing to Dan Savage was odd, and if she wrote to some other columnist, you might be more sympathetic. I was suggesting that maybe her orientation means she feels more comfortable with Savage.

In the Making of the Atomic Bomb book, there's a section on the first time the fissile pile in Chicago was made critical. Obviously the test was successful, in that Chicago was not reduced to a radioactive hole. But the story and build-up was so compelling…

"little sympathy for her when she writes to Dan Savage"

"a movie or a TV series based on a book"

"I mean, I think Journey is pretty crappy too"

Maybe? Probably?

"I wasn't trying to criticize you or anything."

I will take your word for it.
