I guess Katie's not a Red Wings fan, but when the Wings won one of those 90s Cups, whatever network was showing the Finals played Iris under the end-of-playoffs montage and it was great. The lyrics were surprisingly apropos.

I thought both of their performances were great as well.
In this case, ignorance is almost certainly bliss. I've said, "The book is better" regarding several properties, so I get how a poor adaptation could be disappointing/frustrating.
Certainly not knowing the source material made it easier to enjoy the movie.
Somewhere else in this discussion I alluded to the fact that I worked someplace where Top 40 was the only choice on the PA. I was not "enjoying" the every-three-hour rotation, just made all too aware of it.

How about people who work in a university bookstore, and who don't have the authority to change the station that plays over the PA?
Man, this song was really enjoyable at first. But then I realized radio played/plays the same song every three hours, and hearing it became so frustrating not only because I was tired of hearing it but the inevitability of it…knowing it was coming in three hours…ugh!
Perhaps the best thing that came from 300 is the South Park episode that spoofed it.
