Yes, it comes down to "real victims in real life" Vs "fictional victims in a real context"…

Ha ha, condescending and now playing the victim!

I'm not missing their point, I'm just not understanding it. I'm surprised at the tone of some AV Comments now - "you don't agree with me, so you must not be able to understand what I'm saying".

And it's pretty clear I do too, just disagree on the level of impact this has on the tastefulness of the film. You condescending shithead.

Thank you for the reasonable discussion!

"who (mostly) didn't exist"

Sorry for "baddies" - is there an opposite of "hyperbole"? Was going for that… sorry if you felt I was mocking… appreciate your thoughtful reply.

I kind of agree with your thesis, even if I don't agree with the sentiment - if that makes sense!

But slaves and those persecuted during WW2 were real people with real stories. So by that reasoning, IB and Django do a disservice to those real people, by overwriting their real histories with "alternative narratives"? And if this new film is more straight biographical, and not using "alternative narratives" it's

No such thing.

Well, either this, or you become a well remunerated Tory MP.

Human Quentipede.

Why do you think that's the case? For me, it's a slight difference, at best. Pulp Fiction… Reservoir Dogs… fine. But Nazis were real life baddies. Jews were real life victims. As were slaves. If you're OK with a QT film about nazis and slavery… why not this?

Yeah, fun like Jews being chased down and killed, LOL, and fun like slavery!!!!!! XD

I was wandering why they'd used a picture of Julian Assange for the article.

Because "bespoke" sounds much nice than "new video material for the show", which is too long and clunky.

Yes, that seems pretty obvious in context… "bespoke" meaning "made to measure" (so, in this context "made specifically for the concert"), as opposed to the other material that already existed, as pointed out in the article.

A new low for the AV Club

Come on, dude, "silencing opinions we don't like"? Please be better than that.
