i read all the fine print and went in to take advantage of the jeep gladiator 170$ a month lease deal. i knew they wouldnt have any on the lots and it was only for a base model so i ordered it to lock in the deal. the dealership fucked around and never sent in my paperwork until i was 5 miles away 9 weeks later to see

The elephant in the room is that there’s no amount of “misconnected drain hose that I didn’t notice for a year and a half” mold damage that is ever going to cost more to repair than the value of a still-on-lease new car of any make or model.

It’s true. I went and got a degree just so I could get away from working in them. It feels like they’re getting worse with time rather than getting better.

That would require intelligence and empathy, two things sorely lacking at the modern stealership.

I really don’t get why dealers (and manufactures) still use the misleading lease payment thing. When I sold cars, almost every single time someone came in looking for the advertised $499/month payment and were presented with the real numbers being $100-200 more, they got mad and left. We almost never converted those

Bus, Metro, or Walk

Ask an engineer what time it is and they tell you how to build a watch.

German engineers: why use one part when six will do? And lets make it out of plastic even though it sits right next to the exhaust manifold, too.

Ditto. Honestly, everyone saying “this cheap car brand from whenever” is out of their mind. No cheap car brand is viable right now because everyoe is buying more and more expensive cars.

Oof. That was some of the most obnoxious sound I have ever encountered.

Okay I’ll be “that guy” and say anyone who did not vote nice price has no business buying any vehicle this old anyways. This thing is the definition of a well maintained daily. If your primary argument is that of “too many miles” or “just too old” then see my initial comment.

Yep, this is how you advertise a car. The seller truly does “know what he has” in the best way possible via obviously meticulous care (and a giant stack of receipts.)

Now playing

It looks like you are going through the exact same steps as I did when I got my AE86. The auctions is a bit of hit and miss. About 80% of the auctions I had translated were discarded immediately and I placed about 8 or 9 bids before winning mine.

Much as I get all of that, and largely agree, I can’t extend that agreement to a $6k price. $4k? Maybe.

$2,469 would have been the right price.  ND.

Americans like to bitch about eh Excel. It was light years ahead of the Pony us Canadians got to preview. It was a truly remarkably shitty vehicle. While every manufacturer did a dealer delivery and prep they charged you for, Hyundai came up with the ingenious system of applying rust during transit from the factory

You must be real fun at parties.

I think you can’t read.

I remember that in these Fords. I also had a 1970 Cadillac that floated down the highway, but that round thing in front of the driver was a “suggestion wheel”.

I’m confused..I thought a fluffers job was to suck
