Plus Karen likes to sit up high in her SUV on her way to Starbucks, so when she blows a stop sign while updating her Facebook status to “Needs Caffeine ASAP LOL” her front license plate hits you in the left ear.

Thanks.  I was worried that I’d have to do some thinking about electric cars that are suitable to my needs but here you’ve told us all how it’s to be.  Well done you.

This is a really American, bro-centric outlook. This Renault isn’t meant for the US open road. It’s meant for European city living, which this works perfectly for. The EU wants to do away with ICE vehicles, entirely, in the future it would seem, and small EVs like this are EVERYWHERE, and the infrastructure for it is

It has a lot more horsepower and weight compared to this car. Not an excuse, but it explains much of it

No constructive comment or discussion here, just my Twingo passing through, fishing for stars...

The MINI SE has about the same range on the European WLTP cycle as this Renault; the EPA test tends to produce lower numbers for EVs than the WLTP.

For your children future ?
and for when you want to get out of the city, this will still get you there in most countries, and if not, you can rent cars everywhere now.
Out here supermarkets do it for 5-10€ per day. There is also airbnb type apps. takes literally seconds to order one.

That’s a problem solved by 5 minutes

you gotta think outside the US box.
I live in Le Mans, and it’s forbidden to build tower buildings here.
75% of the city appartments are converted houses, and they mostly all have parking spaces where you can easily put a charger.

“but why would people pay a significant premium for this little turd compared to, say, a Honda Fit

A not particularly desirable FWD econobox with a slightly boosted horsepower for 10 years newer car price. This sort of appeals to me but there are too many newer cars I desire more, I can get for the same price. Two that come to mind are the Integra, even the base integra makes 140hp and the RSX with a jewel of a

I’d like to posit that the long-lived Toyota Corolla model line is the automotive equivalent to John C. Reilly. I mean, if he were, you know, Japanese.

I propose that @RobEmslie get today’s COTD for “Corollavirus”.

A 300K mile half assed swapped FWD Corolla with ghetto tint, no mention of any type of service, never mind service records, for $6K? Did they legalize CP in Colorado too?

Arguably, if you know a recession is coming, lock up profits from the last 11 years, pull money out of the market, and buy something tangible like a car that won’t depreciate as fast as your portfolio.

Man worried about recession causes recession.

“Everyone will remember the charming Wrigley’s gum-colored Hornet with affection, and that means votes.”

Tom made the most logical suggestion, but I’m giving the win to Raphael. Those beasts can haul people and a crap ton of campaign signs at the same time. There’s no risk of an old school wagon with faux wood paneling blending in with the sea of crossovers and chrome-plated sedans. And if one of them breaks down, you

No, take the *Metro*.
