Yeah, the do happen, but are statistically extremely unlikely. In my city of approximately 90,000 homes, the last gas explosion was about 3 years ago and the guy did it on purpose. While not all 90k have gas, the vast majority do as it is by far the most economical way to heat around here.

I wish, but the only semi-affordable V10s are Tritons & Magnums; both those are boat anchors by today’s standards with crummy aftermarket part availability to try and get more out of them. Any other V10 is incredibly expensive for performance that can be matched or beaten by a V8 or V12.

I think the argument is that an X5 will do everything as good than a similarly spec’d X6 while looking better and having more room for both passengers & luggage. The argument isn’t that SUVs/CUVs won’t sometimes perform better than cars.

Also, don’t most people who go camping end up getting a stationary camp site and then maybe drive to hiking/boating/kayaking/etc that day? Even if setting up a rooftop tent is quick, I don’t think I’d want to have to set it up every time I need to drive my car somewhere.

Yeah, I’m sure that is part of it; but I think the bigger part is that the rate drivers are actually held accountable for when they hit pedestrians, cyclists, other cars, buildings, etc is just plain old laughably low.

That sounds..... extremely generous. Even if it isn’t, putting down a $100 that is fully refundable is way easier than and in no way anywhere near similar of a commitment as actually buying a (assuming previous pricing is valid) $40k+ truck.
