In order to volunteer at any of the schools in our school district, you have to fill out an application which includes permission for them to do a background check. I am of the hope that ‘former serial killer’ would preclude someone from volunteering.

I don’t know the history for this family, but so often there are 911 calls, attempts at getting protection orders, or reports to the state’s child welfare department in the past for families where abuse is this intense. There are often times when law enforcement could have stepped in but didn’t.

I’d like to know that she was going to be able to receive state paid (maybe even mandatory) counseling for the years of abuse, the trauma of committing the murder and whatever she went through in prison/trial.
