Suzuki Grand Vitara XL-7. Seriously. Not much to look at but proper body on frame construction, 4H/4L, rock solid engine, decent fuel economy, and comfortable. I had a 5-speed and it was a great little truck.

Well done. Glad you shared that story...
None of my comments have been “approved” yet. Maybe this one will ‘cause I’m gonna keep it short. This book was lame. I agree completely, it was disjointed and pointless. Of course the crash that killed, like, 90 people back in the day was the worst but the account in this book of the…
Not quite done this one yet but I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read so far. What amazed me is how they managed to go racing on what seemed, at least for the first few years, a nothing budget. Buying a junky tow vehicle, trailer, car(s), engines, brakes, etc is one thing but also gas, food, accommodations going from point A…
This is the first of Matchett’s books that I’ve read. I really enjoyed it for a number of reasons. First, it describes an era of Formula One just prior to when I became a devoted fan. It was great to read about the earlier iterations of Flavio, Brundle, Schumacher, etc. Second, Matchett provides a fascinating…
What a great idea...got my copy ordered. Hopefully it gets here in time...
