I live in Texas as well, but I think most of the Brodozers only attempt to ford the Gulf of Mexico. The Pacific is far to far to drive when you get 4mpg and have tires that make a deafening whirr about 20mph.

Compared to a 50 year old charger, literally anything made new today is going to handle amazing.

Why on earth was there a stationary truck anywhere on a hot track?

I thought it was smaller. I guess we will see since we don’t even have a final spec for it. The Rivian reviews indicate it’s smaller than an F150.

Yep. The only “self defense” I am going to use is against me or my family’s person. I’m not sticking my neck out for any car, no matter how much I like it. Getting your car stolen is an inconvenience, but we have insurance for a reason.

Long range lightning is too pricey for what it is (ends up being over $60k). Short range is too short. At that point, I’d much rather have a Rivian. Also prefer something somewhere smaller. Tesla charging network is a pretty key benefit, but I suppose the non-Tesla network is only going to improve.

The Alfa should be both substantially quicker and more reliable (especially a Bosch L-jet spider or very late Motronic). It’s obviously not in the same league as a Miata in those fronts, but a different one from an MG. The Alfa should actually be at least as comfortable as a Miata, though their factory A/C was never

I’m actually interested in getting an electric truck generally (coming from someone who would never be interested in an ICE truck). The Cybertruck certainly isn’t pretty, but I would certainly cross shop it with the Rivian once it’s actually available.

There’s some local restaurants  that offer drive-throughs that aren’t mass produced fast food. I like our local Kolache and Coffee spot.

Even today, you can get a later spider in a like for like condition at similar prices. Much better car in every way unless you are just in love with British cars.

There’d be nothing left of it were that the case for any length of time.

If anything, weight alone would mean the vehicle has more momentum. But at highway speeds, aero is a lot more important than weight.

As far as non-factory engine swaps, an LS swap is about as easy as it gets. This thing will have plenty of room.

Where is fancy Kristen when you need her?

Trucks that plan on doing a substantial amount of towing may benefit from a bit more weight.

Went to the Cayman Islands in December once. People complained it was “cold.” Was about 70* with a cooler than normal breeze. I suppose by “cold”, they meant it was not comfortable to sit outside in a wet bathing suit.

It’s 53* degrees here. Since I moved South, I’ve become a cold wimp. Looking forward to 73* tomorrow.

Well, just wait until we lose power in August.

Ever sat in a Mercedes A class?

Personal luxury coupes died for a reason. Does anybody think these are particularly luxurious today? Besides, a general rule is that sports cars are a lot more collectible than luxury cars. Even among Ferraris, the sports cars have a lot more collector’s value than GTs. This isn’t even a GT.
