Part of the problem is that many have so few cars to sell that they pretty much have to markup the ones they do have to make a profit. Whereas before they could sell 100 cars for $1,000 profit each, now they can only sell 25 cars, so they need to add $3k to the cost just to break even compared to regular times.
The Renault R5 homologation special had a similar option, except it could get 37mpg if you stayed out of boost. It had a theoretical range of almost 900 miles.
I don’t see the problem with finishing under yellow. Races finish under yellow all the time. People might have been disappointed, but that’s just sports. It would be disappointing for the World Series to end on a 10-0 blowout, but you don’t just announce extra innings because it wasn’t exciting enough.
You misspelled broke.
Depends on what you mean by “non-paying.” One of the ways to pay is to bring sponsors, and it’s still possible to win sponsors through talent. Hamilton didn’t have a personal fortune to bring to the table to get his F1 seat. He found benefactors due to his karting performance as a kid, which became bigger benefactors…
Drivers have been able to buy their way in since Day 1 of Formula 1 existing. It used to be even more so before the Super License rules were implemented that require at least some minimal amount of open wheel racing accomplishment.
Seriously outperformed? LeClerc was ahead until literally this race result.
It was 6 laps and the last two they were lapping close to even. Hamilton was set to win by 10+ seconds.
No way. Hamilton’s pace would have been dropping off if the tires were on the verge of giving out completely. 5% or less chance of an overtake.
Surely you jest. He was 11 seconds ahead with 6 laps to go and Max was not gaining on him over the prior 3 laps. Zero chance he would have caught up.
Yeah. Camrys come with 300.
The best version will be the STI though. It’s almost certainly going to carry over the same 6 speed (which is way better than the WRX 6 speed) and will have a recaro option. It will probably be manual only because I don’t think the CVT has the headroom for another 50hp and Subaru is to cheap to use a transmission that…
I hope they actually give you a manual to review along side of the CVT. I understand they sort of have to offer a 2-pedal car for sales and all, but I can’t understand picking a WRX with a CVT. If you are happy with a CVT, you’d be happier with a different car.
You are going to need the STI to fix all that. STI understeers out of the box, but a rear swaybar and alignment will fix all that.
People who would just to retire to Hawaii tend not to end up megabillionaires in the first place. You’d have been retired in Hawaii after selling your paypal stake 20 years ago if you were Musk.
He is indeed incredibly fast and talented. He may very well win the title one day (maybe this weekend) because of it. But the sense of entitlement has nothing to do with his skill level.
I said it in another thread, but they should really do a sprint race as a tiebreaker. So much better (and exciting) than using race wins.
It’s not in the DSM because many believe it’s not a distinct phenomenon from Traumatic Bonding (which is). In both cases, it’s about the abused identifying with the abuser.
LIDAR jammer is just one more thing to have wire up and worry about. Radar jammers are illegal, and there’s nothing you can do really about instant on radar.
