Starting with a sow’s ear...maybe not a silk purse but a darn nice leather one.

I just love these one-sided articles.

I think that Dodge beat you to the punch with the 1989 Caravan Turbo with 5 speed manual. 0-60 in about 9.5 seconds. Pretty good straight line performance for that time. It is now a cult classic type vehicle. Who knew?

Did you ever even drive a GLH or GLHS? I did. Was it a refined sports car...no. Was it a fun to drive car. In my opinion...yes. Manual transmission. Gobs of horsepower for the day. Good handling except for a “tad” of torque steer.

Well the Omni GLH “Goes Like Hell” and GLHS were very daring and fun cars back in the day. I had the privilege of driving a GLH and a VW GTI within a few weeks of each other. Both were fun. I had a 1984 Rabbit GTI at the time. Another fun car.

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
‘Relax, ‘ said the Meta Man,
‘We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave!’

If the ratios have been quickened to that extent, wouldn’t the driving experience be more erratic or jerky thus less smooth. Perhaps more prone to steer to abruptly and lose control.

Did people forget that Ford made $8.2 billion last year on their Rivian investment?

Exactly...that there is a SeaSucker rack and they make one to accommodate surf boards and paddle boards. Don’t throw out the baby just to enjoy the salt water.

2nd Gear...Arteon might be nice but my 2016 manual transmission Golf R is a fine VW automobile for my needs. Great performance and practicality in one package with awd and a manual transmission. The GR Corolla will soon be a great option though in the realm of awd hot hatches.

I am thinking that “Sorokanik” just kind of fits. Even rolls off the tongue.

Yes, an Audi RS6 Avant would be much more suited to family car duties. The whole “family truckster” thing. I’ll borrow a line from an R&T Dodge Magnum RT article whereby it was stated “Finally, a station wagon with an attitude... a car that can haul stuff and haul ass at the same time.” I like that:)

I agree about the content here having editorial affect. That is sad though. Car guys and gals are suppose to be just that. We should have the automobile as the common bond that transcends politics and all that other garbage. We should be able to all pretend that we are all together at one big giant car show and talk

Appears the guy got his minute of “fame” and his minute of “pain” in 2 for 1 deal.

I would think she should and will receive the same type of treatment that Professor Britney Cooper has experienced at Rutgers. Same issue but a mirror image. Results should be the same. Whereby nothing came of Cooper’s comments and tirade.

Looks like my politically neutral response brings out all those who are not neutral. I don’t care if this was a BLM protest or a Occupy movement or a Trump rally or a Biden rally or “You name it movement” my comments would be the same. You “Assume” and make an A$$ out of yourself and not me.

Oh Tom...you make me blush with your cute self. Go play with the lads now.

And how does this “blatant opinion piece” relates to the automotive world?

Every driver of a performance car likes to “give the beans” from a stoplight or stop sign or on an entrance ramp...every now and then...but you got to know your car’s capabilities and your own limitations. Fast & Furious is not the real world. Too many people cannot make that distinction.

He said he lived in an apartment. No apartment is going to let a tenant install a Level 2 or greater charger.
