And meanwhile I’m actually trying to get my mom to drive stick. She’s had her brothers and my father try and teach her many times over the years to drive stick, all to no avail. She stalled a test-drive Honda Civic 12 times in a parking lot with my dad and gave up on the endeavour. I however am going to try and teach

Am I the only one noticing the ‘shopped car in the pic is the exact same as the one that jesterspawn overlaid in a later post?

Noticed at least one person make mention of the GT’s drivetrain in relation to Lotus.

That’s implying it went full throttle. R&T added the vid showed it running under low boost and 20% throttle. I wasn’t expecting anything insane at 1/10ths of it’s ability, but it’s impressive nonetheless.

I see your RSX, and raise you 7th-gen Celicas:

I was personally thinking more clapped-out Mitsubishi Eclipse, but 3000GT works too. :P

Mine is a bit more of a modern car than most of yas on here. For driver’s ed and my G1 I drove the driving instructor’s ‘08 Chrysler Sebring, but to get my full “G” I used my parents ‘06 Corolla CE Special Edition, which I still drive to college to date during the winter (and sits at 223K km currently).

Agreed, I even said this would become a thing a while back.

Am I the only one who’s surprised more so that the new Corvette ZR1 has a SEVEN-speed manual?!

When I’m driving? No, as I’m still a young driver (even if I’ve been driving for 4 years, I don’t feel highly confident in my abilities.

Came here for pic of International CXT, was not disappointed.

2006 Toyota Corolla CE Special Edition (except it’s in blue with the 4-speed auto):

The sheer fact it’s a blue Celica is what makes it stand out. Even then, there’s only a small handful of 7th-gen Celica owners in the area that I’ve seen. Though I was lucky the one time to come across a fellow blue Celica in my college parking lot last month:

Can’t say I’ve had to use a spare before, but I’m glad I have a full-size spare in my Celica!

Eh, I’m not a huge jerk about the audio system in my car. More often than not I need to have the volume up (around 6-9) just because the sound deadening material in my car is shot, so I hear the engine and exhaust really clearly if there’s nothing playing. (Still breaks through the music if I rev past 4K RPM)

I myself have a $1000 audio system in my Celica (came from the previous owner, has a 12" subwoofer and two 3" door tweeters hooked up to a 700-watt 5-channel amp, which I’m currently trying to repair). I can understand the noise pollution scenario. Last week I brought my car out to a youth event to blast some tunes.

You are right about the economy and tech level. I took a bunch of computer science programs in high school, and now I’m in a college program for automotive. Learning about all the advancements that cars have these days is sometimes mind-boggling and confusing more so than fascinating and interesting. A bunch of guys

Is it weird that I can actually see some owners down the road/in the near future actually modding the heck outta both engine options and turning these things into performance beasts?

So with that in mind, these guys are freaking geniuses?

Knew I wasn’t the only one who thought of this awesome anime film when they heard the title. ;)
