The problem is that this is the same type of stuff Patricia writes time and time again. She likes to stand high and mighty, standing tall and pointing her finger at anyone who's a visible target. This article should be the last straw that gets her fired from this site. Sadly, that doesn't happen much around here.

"But what about a five-year-old waiting just outside a supermarket? What's the appropriate wait-and-see period?"

You can get GBA clones on Alibaba, which have backlit screens (the same screens RCG uses) and work surprisingly well. I have a large video game system collection, including a collection of clone hardware. The GBA clones can be surprisingly good.

What specifically interests you about this system? If it's the backlit screen, I'd mainly suggest picking up a GBA SP, specifically the AGS-101 model. If it's the paint job, I'd suggest seeing if anyone over at NintendoAge.com can help you out.

I've bought from them twice. I had a bad initial experience, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. The second time was even worse. The problems were all due to the quality of their hardware mods, which had major reliability issues.

What's with the love fest for RCG lately? Their paint work is fine, but their hardware modding work is horrendous.

Honestly, you're better off picking up a GBA SP with a backlit screen.

Fingers are crossed that my Oculus DK2 order is in the July batch! Too many cool things being released and I can't wait to try them all.

There's absolutely nothing special about the screen replacement they use. They're straight from China and readily available (you can buy them yourself from Alibaba). Replacing the screen isn't all that difficult either.

Ugh ... are these guys still in business? While they do decent quality paint work, the quality of their system mods are highly questionable. I've dealt with them twice and had a horrible experience both times (I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time).

All the sizes are over priced. It's extremely easy to fill a 16GB card. I wouldn't recommend getting anything smaller than 32GB.

I think you probably need the app as much as the kids who it's target for, as you apparently have issues with reading comprehension.

There's absolutely no deception here. They're extremely clear about what they're trying to accomplish. They even specifically state that TV isn't the proper medium for this anymore.

Anyone know what they are using to broadcast 3DS games?

I won't stop preordering games as long as Future Shop continues to offer "get $20 off each game when preordering 3 or more titles" sales. That's a good chuck of saved money for stuff I'd buy day one anyways.
