It would be nice to see the data. If he just hit redline or maybe went over by 50 rpm, that would be one thing, if he hit 500 rpm over the redline then that’s completely different.

There’s a big difference between taking the engine up to the rev limiter, and actual over-revving which can only really be caused by downshifting.

the engine had been red-lined multiple times
Meanwhile, Cybertrucks brick from going through a car wash. 😂
This was a great read. I hope my kids remember their dad doing these types of things. A remember simply going a bit fast over the local rail crossing and hitting the tracks in my jeep and simply saying “I am pushing the jump-n-ator son!” button to my kids and just bouncing over the tracks. My kids swore we caught air…
Uhhh, I hope she had umbrella coverage?
My 87 year old mother got scammed out of thousands in a remarkably dumb con, then blamed me, the only son of three who was ever there for her as somehow complicit. As I dealt with that and her anger at the slightest implication that it was somehow her fault, she then accidentally burned her house down with a microwavab…
Worst week of my life at least recently was getting major food poisoning to the point that if my house was on fire I would be happy to die. A few days ago got better I was scammed out of 15 thousand dollars with no recourse and no way to get it back. So yeah that was a bad week.
It’s also a breach of trust! You take care of a thing and then it breaks down on you??? “KHAAAAAA(n)!!!!

I also fell prey to the Carvana offer for my 2018 GTI S, plaid seats, stick, the whole shebang. I sold it for more than I paid for it, 3 years after I bought it.
Every passing year I feel more satisfied about purchasing my Mk7.5 with 7k miles. I haven’t found a single thing to dislike about it, the newer generation is markedly worse in quite a few respects, and the best part is that I still have two years on my warranty.
I forgot how wild the MSRPs were on these to begin with.
Depends on how you define the segment. If you say “removable roof off-roader” there are only two of them, not very competitive. If you put it in the “I need people to believe I’m out-doorsy and strong and capable” it’s a slightly bigger segment. If you lump it in with the “I need people to know I can waste $60,000 on…
This is what i did. Went from a 2016GTI 2dr with 90k miles to a 2017 Alltrack with 25k miles. I wanted the space but also to get a DSG and AWD instead of the manual that was causing me issues. Its slightly better than the sportwagen in several ways. Then i lowered it on coilovers to get righ of that offroad height and…
You can rent a whole lot of trucks from Home Depot for $40,000.
Maybe it’s Maybeline
Wouldn’t the logical jump be to a VW Golf SportWagen? That is the next bigger wagon after the Golf and the only one that VW made after the Jetta and Passat stopped doing wagon stuff. I believe they made them until 2019 and they came with a 1.4t and 6 speed manual.
