I agree and that is what my second paragraph was mostly about. I also had no idea what BTFU meant and when I searched for it I got, Botswana Federation of Trade Unions. But I am assuming the second one I got, Boiler the Fudge (I assume fuck also works here) up, is the right version.

Am I the only one who doesn’t know what BFTU means?

Insurance makes sense for a $100K contest, but I’m surprised a dealership that can afford a $15M donation would bother with insurance for a $5K prize.

Good he took the cash, definitely better to avoid having any future dealings with that dealership.

My college girlfriend and I drove the non-convertible version of this car from Minneapolis to Seattle in 1985. The interstate mountain passes were absolutely harrowing. I’d rather be hit by this car than buy it.

I figure $3,500 would be the correct dollar amount.  That is, for the seller to pay me to take the car.

ND I had a friend who owned one of these back in the ‘80's, it was a pain to own back then, doubt it has improved like fine wine.

Does Consumer Reports have a problem with you guys regularly just reposting their reporting? I thought they were fiercely protective of their content.

I honestly didn’t know that Hoonigan was anything other than a slogan or name. I associated it with Ken Block but that’s as far as it went for me. To discover it’s an actual business with $1.2 billion in debt blows my mind as much as those gymkhana videos. This might be part of their business problem.

Last time I was getting tires for my WRX (19" tires so admittedly somewhat low profile) they wanted close to $65 per tire for mount and balance and this was at a big name shop that I was actually buying the tires from (I purchased from them because they had a really generous price match policy and could get them the

$200 eBay find for a set of Gen II SHO slicer wheels. Looks fast standing still

Four bands for a set of wheels, another six for the tires.

I am seriously looking at tire machines and balancers. My extended family has a big enough fleet to support one of each.  I hate paying retail for this.

It looks like the Italian Job and Duel screenwriters were influenced by Cy Endfield’s Hell Drivers. Also features a very young Sean Connery, definitely worth a watch.

I could see about a year ago that things had started to cool as there were actual cars at the dealership that were for sale and even had a small discount on them. They were all sold before they hit the dealer a few years ago and I’m sure there were markups attached to some. It makes sense as the hype is always around

The C8 is cool, but it’s specs - and by extension, its price - seem to be inflated beyond what one would traditionally associate with a Corvette. And of course less attainable cars depreciate faster anyway. It probably doesn’t help that there are a number of design concessions in the C8 to make it simpler to build,

How do you figure that i’m miserable about everything? it’s cool they helped bring stuff to set up a charging infrastructure but none of that changes that this isn’t that impressive of a trip considering the claims made about them. I’ve considered buying a tesla but after being in a few and seeing build quality

That looks stunning! Do you have a very rough ballpark of what this kind of thing would cost? I really need to do something with seats in one of my cars. It’s very difficult around here to find somewhere that does auto upholstery at all, much less good custom upholstery.

Looks great! That kind of thing (especially a 911) used to be on my wishlist. Now, I’m working on a 27 year old Tahoe that a friend gave me. Great engine, working transmission, working transfer case, clean interior, paint is crap. I’ve repainted the rear doors, now just have to get rid of the orange peel (don’t paint
