True that!!! šŸ˜‚

Now playing

Are you trying to say Boeing? Cause you’re hurtin’ my ears here!

I don’t know what the market is on these, but that sounds like a pretty great deal!

Great car overall and I think these will be coveted in decades to come, but I grew too impatient and grabbed an auto before the manual came out (and didn’t want to get into bidding wars over scarce manuals). I just prefer a manual for a fun car. Would still consider a manual supra and they’re probably going to get…

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been buying a new car lately what kind of deals they’re seeing. I’ll say that against my better judgment I’ve purchased a few new cars during what we could call the last few ā€œpandemic shortageā€ years. They’ve all been at sticker and that’s the first time I’ve ever paid msrp for any…

Give me the front end of the base LE. There’s only 1 place I want to see honeycomb these days

A call with Tesla confirmed that the truck had needed a complete reboot which took over five hours of sitting to complete. From the moment he’d initiated the reboot method of holding down two steering wheel buttons,

Somewhat random recollection: Kansas City essentially straddles the state line between KS and MO. Not a motorcycle rider myself, but knew several—it was always interesting to me that in the past riders had to plan their route ahead: KS was a non-helmet (eye protection only) state, MO was a helmet state. Sounds…

Counterpoint: a reserve auction is exactly what the seller needs to mitigate the possibility of a cratered value. Nothing to lose. A no-reserve auction would be far more nail-biting.

Correct. What I meant (confusingly worded on my part) was I was surprised no one else had commented on the death of the V6 to the turbo 4 options only going forward (it seemed like that was a lot of people’s concerns early on during the rumor phase).

No mention of a 3 row option (not that I’d want one in mine). No comments on turbo 4 vs the end of the NA (V6). From what I’ve read in the forums, the turbo 4 has been a good engine and reliable, however, it can hesitate/be sluggish if you don’t use premium. A minor point, but probably good to know if true.

They do make a 4cyl hybrid that gets 35mpg city (actually 36)—it’s called the Highlander. You can’t force people to buy the car they really need.

I think they’ve kept pace with inflation.Ā  We bought our 2002 4R sport edition new and it was about $31k (maybe $33k; can’t find but a Limited stickered for 36 that year).Ā  31k in 2024 dollars is almost $55k.Ā

Looks great!Ā

Roll down the window and advertise I guess

This is expected to cause quite a roe.

his ā€œpickupā€ was originally owned by a man in Lincoln, Nebraska...the owner was a heavy equipment operator and actually used the bed of this thing to haul stuff.

I’m seriously torn on this. The heart says the Mk7 GTI b/c if something happened to mine, I’d be on the interwebs the next day looking for a replacement, but I think the nod goes to the FL5 Type R:

All your base 4Runner are belong to us!

That’s what I did with my ā€˜17 GTI—flew to Colorado and drove it back to KS on the interstate. It remains a great road trip memory and loved that turbo acceleration shove. I think I took an extra exit ramp or two just to rev it back up again. 7 years later, still never gets old.
